Okay kids, let’s take a look back at those stats that made their way onto the record books.
We had three 2,000-point efforts in 2016. They were…
Calderon beat Neatock, 2,079 – 1,474 in week four. The 2,079 were the 29th most points scored in a game.
Griff scored 2,052 in a 2,052 – 1,071 win over Molly in week six. That was the 32nd most ever scored.
Calderon broke 2,000 twice. In week one, he beat Burrier 2,030 – 1,008. That proved to be the 37th most points scored in a game.
Speaking of beating Burrier in week one…
The 1,022-point margin of victory by Calderon was the 28th largest ass-kicking in league history
We had a pair of four-point wins in 2016, both are tight for 8th tightest game.
In week ten, Jeff beat Neatock by four, 1,659 – 1,655.
One week later, Don took down Eric, 1,040 – 1,036
One winning streak came to an end, before it get going in 2016.
Griff entered the season riding a 8-game winning streak. However, he lost in week one and that streak is tied for 7th longest in league history.
Of course, some losing streaks came and went, while others are still going.
I lost six straight this season, tying a bunch of people for 14th longest streak. Although I became the second person to do it in one season and still make the playoffs.
Neatock ended the year riding a seven-game slide. That’s currently tied for ninth and just two back of the all-time record of nine straight.
Points…some people scored a lot.
Calderon averaged 1,532 points per game this year in the regular season. That was the fourth best scoring average in league history.
Jeff also did some scoring. He averaged 1,499 points per game, which is 8th best all-time.
Of course, Calderon only got better in the post-season.
If you count both the regular season and playoffs, Calderon scored a total of 25,233 points, which was the second most ever, 276 points behind Bob’s record from 2014.
Despite not winning it all, Jeff’s 23,393 points scored is the 12th most in league history and the fourth most scored by a non-champion.
Historically, Molly’s opponents have failed to show, but that wasn’t the case in 2016.
Molly’s opponents scored 19,015 points, averaging 1,463 points per game, the third most ever.
Colby also couldn’t catch a break. His opponents scored 18,252, averaging 1,404 points per contest, the 15th most in league history.
I also made the list, as my opponents averaged a solid 1,395 points per game, the 17th most in league history.
You don’t lose 11 games without some bad breaks. Neatock’s opponents averaged 1,374 points per game, the 27th most ever.
Holy shit, five people cracked the top-40 in this list. Burrier’s opponents averaged 1,358 points per game, the 37th most.
The 1,000-point streak isn’t as glamorous as it once was, but we still keep track.
Despite not making the playoffs, Griff always broke 1,000 and has done it for 31 straight games. That’s the second longest streak in league history. He is just six back if Bob’s record of 37 straight.
Speaking of Bob, his 1,000-point streak ended in week two. That was 31 straight dating back to week one of 2014. That’s currently tied for second longest streak.
Masterson scored at least 1,000 for over two years now and has done it in 30 straight games. That’s the fourth longest streak and it’s still active.
Eric has scored at least 1,000 in 24 straight, 9th longest and his career long.
Don has done 1,000 in 23 straight games. The 12th longest streak and a career best.
I have gone 19 straight scoring at least 1,000, the 16th longest streak.
Jeff scored at least 1,000 in all sixteen games this year, thus his streak sits at 16, the 28th longest.
Even scoring 1,250 in every game has become less impressive. Still…
Griff’s 1,250-pt streak from 2015 through 2016 lasted ten games, the 8th longest in league history.
Calderon did it for nine straight games, the 9th longest streak.
Both Colby and I are riding seven-game 1,250-pt streaks, which are tied for the 18th longest streak.
I actually had a pair of 1,250-point streaks. I started the year with six straight, tied for 30th longest in league history.
Some streaks are worth ending, like…
Don scored over 1,500 in week five. That ended a 24-game streak without, the sixth longest steak in league history.
Some streaks are worth riding, like…
Jeff has gone 56 weeks (that’s over four years) without a weekly low score. That’s impressive and the second longest streak in league history. Still, he needs to do it for two more years if he wants to tie Calderon for the record of 80 straight.
Masterson also has avoided the weekly low. He hasn’t done it for 43 straight weeks, the 6th longest streak.
Eric earned a weekly low scored in week eleven. That ended a 31-game streak, which was the 15th longest in league history.
Both Molly and Bob saw 26-week streaks come to an end. Bob earned a weekly low in week two, Molly week 11. The streaks are tied for the 26th longest.
Again, some streaks are bad, like…
I haven’t had a weekly high scored in my last 40 games. That’s the 10th longest in league history, 19 back of the record held by Eric.
Don also have a active streak without a weekly high. He’s gone 33 straight weeks, the 14th longest.
Neatock has gone 25 straight weeks without a high scored. That’s the 26th longest.
The playoffs, that’s what really matters..
Bob has crashed the post-season party for ten straight seasons. That’s a league record. The closest person to him is Masterson, who is at six straight.
