Streaking Into 2018

Some streaks are good. Some…not so much. Here are a handful of streaks I’m paying attention to heading into the 2018 season.

LONGEST ACTIVE STREAK WITHOUT A WEEKLY LOW SCORE  Only four teams went without a weekly low score in 2017, with Bob leading the way at 21. Still, he needs four more weeks without a low to crack the top-30 and would need to go over four and half years without a weekly low to catch Calderon’s record of 80 straight weeks. Still one of my favorite stats.

Bob – 21 Colby – 20 Robio – 18 Matt – 17 Eric – 9 Marc – 6 Griff – 5 Don – 4 Jeff – 3 Rich B – 3 Rich C – 2 Rob M – 1

LONGEST ACTIVE STREAK WITHOUT A WEEKLY HIGH SCORE  This year, unless Don turns his shit around, he could approach Griff and Eric’s record setting, 59 weeks without a weekly high score. Right now, he’s 13 games away with 13 games to play in the 2018 season. Still, despite not having the record, Don is sort of the king of not getting weekly highs. He’s already got the 3rd (56 weeks between 2009-13) and 4th (53 weeks between 2002-06) longest streaks in league history.

Don – 46 Griff – 20 Rich C – 16 Jeff – 14 Rich B – 13 Marc – 13 Bob – 8 Colby – 5 Rob M – 4 Eric – 2 Matt – 1 Robio – 0

LONGEST 1,000-PT GAME STREAK  Remember when Matt became the first person to score over 1,000 in 24 games and it was a big deal? Now 24 straight isn’t even among the top-10. Eric, who hasn’t scored below 1,000 since the end of 2015, is the new king. His 39 straight is the longest 1,000-pt streak in league history and obviously, it’s still active. At 26 each, Bob and Matt are tied for the 8th longest streak.

Eric – 39 Bob – 26 Matt – 26 Rich C – 12 Robio – 7 Colby – 7 Griff – 6 Jeff – 5 Don – 4 Marc – 4 Rich B – 3 Rob M – 1

LONGEST 1,250-PT GAME STREAK  We are scoring more in this league each year, but I keep 1,250 as the medium score, as it is still hard to do a lot of times in a row. Only three teams are riding a three-game 1,250-pt streak and Matt is the leader with five. If he starts off 2018 scoring that amount, then he’ll crack the top-40 for longest streak. However, he has a long way to go to reach the record. Matt could reach the finals and score over 1,250 points in every game and still be four game behind Bob’s record.

Matt – 5 Colby – 2 Robio – 2 Griff – 1 Jeff – 1 Rich C – 1 Bob – 0 Eric – 0 Don – 0 Rich B – 0 Rob M – 0 Marc – 0

LONGEST STREAK WITHOUT A 1,500-PT GAME This is not the streak you want to be leading, as 1,500 typically is a guarantee win. Currently, Burrier is doubling up the next guys on the list. One more and he’ll officially crack the top-30 for longest streak. Still, he’s 17 back of Eric’s record setting 29 straight games without 1,500 points.

Rich B – 12 Don – 6 Rich C – 6 Marc – 5 Colby – 5 Eric – 4 Rob M – 4 Griff – 2 Bob – 1 Matt – 0 Jeff – 0 Robio – 0
