Record Are Meant To Be Broken, 2011

The Coomers didn't walk away with a title in 2012, but they walked away with a lot of Robioland records.

It was a record breaking year in Robioland, thanks to some monster scoring. In fact, four records have fallen this year.

LEAGUE RECORDS:

209,130 total points were scored this season by ALL TEAMS, an average of 1,342 PPG. It is the most points scored in one season by all 12 teams. Congratulations to all.

17 times this season a TEAM failed to score 1,000. That’s a record low. The previous record was 26 back in 2004.

Teams broke 1,500 points in a game 50 times this year. That beats the previous record of 45, set back in 2002.

DIVISIONAL RECORDS:

I rank all the divisions every year based on points. The THREE DIVISIONS this year all finished in the top-six.

The division that featured MATT, COLBY, and the TWO RICH’S became the second greatest division ever, only behind 2004’s Colby, Masterson and the two Rich’s.

The division featuring BOB, DON and the TWO ROB’S finished #4

The final division with MOLLY, GRIFF, JEFF and ERIC ranked tied for 6th.

HIGHEST SCORING GAMES:

COLBY had the highest scoring game of the year when he produced 2,197 points in the quarterfinals. Not only was it his highest scoring game, it was the 7th highest ever.

GRIFF scored 2,155 points against Molly in the final weekend of the regular season. It was the 9th most points scored in a game by a single team.

HIGHEST COMBINED SCORES:

***New Record Alert*** In week 13, GRIFF and MOLLY combined to score 3,950 points (Griff 2155, Molly 1795). That’s the most points scored by two teams in league history.

MATT beat BURRIER in week 13, 1864-1782. The 3,646 points is the 8th most combined points scored in a game.

Way back in week two, ROBIO beat ROB M, 1921-1680. The 3,609 combined points was the 12th most points scored in a game.

MOST POINTS SCORED IN A DEFEAT:

BURRIER scored the most points in a defeat this season when he scored 1,782 in a week 13 loss. It was the 4th most points scored in a defeat.

MASTERSON, whose name appears on this list five times now, scored 1,680 points in a loss to me this year. The 8th most points scored in a defeat.

ROB M shows up again, thanks to his loss to Molly. He scored 1,667 points, the 11th most in a defeat.

It’s ROB MASTERSON again. When he lost to Bob in the quarterfinals, he scored 1,663 points. The 16th most in league history.

And finally, MATT scored 1,617 points in a quarterfinals loss to Burrier. It was the 20th most points scored in a defeat.

CLOSEST GAMES:

In this year’s quarterfinals, BOB beat MASTERSON by just 2 points. It was the second time in league history it has happened. Three teams have pulled off 1-point wins.

LONGEST LOSING STREAK:

ERIC ended the season riding an eight-game losing streak. This active streak is tied for the 4th longest streak in league history. One more defeat and he’ll tie the record shared by three people (David, Robio, Griff).

Starting at the end of last year and into this year, JEFF dropped seven straight, tied for the 7th longest streak ever.

MOST POINTS PER GAME REGULAR SEASON:

MOLLY averaged 1,536 PPG this year. It’s the second most points ever scored in the regular season.

Right behind Molly, ROB MASTERSON averaged 1,530 PPG, the third most points scored in league history.

MATT also cracked the top-10. His 1,458 PPG was the 9th most points scored in the regular season. Ironically, none of these three (Molly, Rob and Matt) advanced pass the first round of the playoff’s this year.

Don’t forget about BURRIER, he averaged 1,444 PPG, the 11th most points scored in the regular season.

OPPONENT’S POINTS PER GAME:

***New Record Alert*** ERIC got no love in 2011 and it was a record-breaking no-love. His opponent’s averaged 1,454 PPG. The most ever.

Right behind Eric was his father. DON’S opponent’s averaged 1,438 PPG. The second most ever. Considering he made it to the post-season again, count me as impressed.

MATT also had no luck. His opponents averaged 1,395 PPG, the 7th most points allowed in the regular season.

ROBIO’S opponents produced a solid 1,377 PPG, the 12th most points scored in the regular season.

LONGEST 1,000-PT GAME STREAK:

***New Record Alert*** BOB crushed this record…he scored 1,000 in 37 straight games from 2009-2011, 13 more times (a full season) more than the previous record of 24 set by Matt.

Speaking of, MATT again appears on this list. He is currently riding a 23-game 1,000-pt streak, the 4th longest. Matt currently has 2nd, 3rd and 4th longest streaks.

BURRIER recorded 17-straight 1,000-pt games, dating back to 2010, tying him with five others for 7th longest streak.

COLBY scored 1,000 in 15-straight between 2010-2011, tying him with five others for 16th longest streak.

LONGEST 1,250-PT GAME STREAK:

***New Record Alert*** MATT scored 1,250 in 12 straight games starting in 2010 and ending this past season. That is the longest streak in league history.

ROB M scored 1,250 in 9 straight games, the 4th longest streak in league history (tied with two others)

BOB hit 1,250 points in six straight games from 2010-2011. This ties him with five others for 14th longest streak.
