Best & Worst Draft Picks After Four Weeks

Four weeks of football and we’re starting to see who the stars are and who will are the busts. Below is the list of best picks per round. I am not including keepers; only draft picks.

I think what’s telling is how few sleepers we’ve been drafting. It’s hard to find any players drafted in the final 6-7 rounds who are making an impact. Perhaps we’re all so much smarter now and great players don’t fall to the cracks as much. Yeah, that sounds good.

Round ONE

BEST: Le’Veon Bell RB/PIT – MATT This should come as no surprise. Through four weeks, the Steelers running back has already cracked 1,000 fantasy points and only seems to be scratching his service, as his totals have climbed each week: 94-182-256-492.

WORST: Christian McCaffrey RB/CAR – BURRIER This is actually a close call, because if we just want to talk about performance, no one has been worse than Amari Cooper (Jeff). After scoring just 184 points in week one, the Raiders stud receiver has just 96 total fantasy points in his next three games. Yet, McCaffrey gets the honors because this was a bad pick. After starting in week one, the Panthers rookie is just wasting away on Rich’s bench. Worse yet, he’s not playing consistently enough to even trade away for much value, failing to hit 100 in half of his games this year.

Round TWO

BEST: Kareem Hunt RB/KC – ROB M Aaron Rodgers (Robio) wasn’t a bad pick (has scored nearly 1,200 points) and Leonard Fournette (Calderon) is getting a ton of workload (producing over 1,000 fantasy points so far), but the best player in fantasy has been Kareem Hunt. His 1,648 fantasy points is the league best and he’s on pace to rush for over 2,000 yards and for over 2,600 total yards.

WORST: T.Y. Hilton WR/IND – COLBY Devante Adams (Matt) is the lowest point getter in this round (558), but injury cost him a game and a half. Dalvin Cook (Bob) was a stud, but could earn worst second round pick when the season is over because he just tore his ACL. However, my money is on Hilton. This isn’t much of a surprise. With no Luck, it’s hard to be a solid fantasy receiver. Hilton has produced one good game in week three, scoring 366 fantasy points. Take that away and he’s failed to hit 100 in his three other games, catching just 10 balls for 136 yards.

Round Three

BEST: Russell Wilson QB/SEA – COLBY It took a couple of games, but the Hawks’ quarterback is starting to heat up, giving Colby 912 points over the last two weeks. His success may continue thanks to his schedule. Seattle will only face one team that is currently ranked in the top-1o in pass defense (Texans at #9 at home).

WORST: Jarvis Landry WR/MIA – DON There’s a handful of people who could go in this spot. Cam Newton got benched by Bob, then had one great game against an awful Pats defense. Marshawn Lynch is trending down; 76 fantasy points in his last two games and now his quarterback is hurt. Kelvin Benjamin has a 50 and a 16-point game on his 2017 resume. Yet, the worst of the worst is Jarvis Landry. After catching 13 balls in week two, he’s failed to break 50 yards in his last two contests. Plus, the team can’t score so he has zero touchdowns.

Round Four

BEST: Stefon Diggs WR/MIN – ERIC Tyreek Hill has done wonders for me, starting three times and producing with over 700 fantasy points, but Diggs is currently the best receiver in football. he has over 1,000 fantasy points, which is double impressive due to the fact he has no quarterback.

WORST: James White RB/NE – MARC In a round that has two players that have yet to take the field (Snead and Martin), this remains the worst pick because he didn’t belong in the fourth round. When he catches passes, he can be a okay RB2. He has a 8-catch game and a 10-catch game. He also has a 3-catch game and 1-catch game and has yet to rush for 40 yards or score a touchdown.

Round Five

BEST: C.J. Anderson RB/DEN – ROBIO Ameer Abdullah had his breakout game in week four and he could be the best of this round when the season is all said and done, but for now, Anderson has reestablished himself as a solid low-end RB1. He has over 900 fantasy points and only has one bad game to his name.

WORST: Thomas Rawls RB/SEA – MARC There is plenty not to like from this round. 332 of Sammy Watkins’s 542 fantasy points came in one game, while Greg Olsen will miss most of the season with a foot injury. Allen Robinson will probably end up owning this spot because he’s on the IR for the rest of the year, but for now, let’s go Rawls. The Seattle back has five carries for four yards and was a healthy scratch in week four.

Round Six

BEST: Pierre Garcon WR/SF – COLBY As we move on down the rounds, it’s going to get tougher to find gold, but Garcon has at least been a bronze. He put one good game, two bad games and one so-so performance. At the very least, with the right matchup, Colby can slide him into his starting lineup.

WORST: Darren McFadden RB/DAL – ROB M There is so much disappointment in this round. Paul Perkins has been a joke, scoring just 192 fantasy points. Rex Burkhead has played in only two games after getting hurt. Brandon Marshall took about three games to catch a ball from Eli, but I’m going with McFadden. Even if Elliot had to serve out his suspension, he wasn’t even the right handcuff. He has zero fantasy points on the season, despite not being hurt.

Round Seven

BEST: Zach Ertz, TE/PHI – MATT In a round that saw four tight ends fly off the board, Ertz has been the best of the bunch. In fact, he’s currently earning second-team All-Robio, as Wentz has targeted him at least eight times in each of his four games. If he was a WR, he’d be the 11th best wideout in the league.

WORST: Tyler Eifert TE/CIN – JEFF It’s simple, he can’t stay on the field. He’s missed two games so far and has just 46 yards worth of receptions on the year.

Round Eight

BEST: Chris Hogan WR/NE – BOB He’s been a reliable target since a rough week one, where he only caught one of five targets. Since then, he has caught 14 of the 21 balls thrown his way, scoring a solid four times. Right now, he’s a legit WR2 in this league.

WORST: Jamaal Williams RB/GB – RICH B Andrew Luck has yet to play, while both Woodhead and Coleman are on the IR. Yet, it appears that Williams isn’t even the right handcuff to have. When Montgomery has sat, it hasn’t been Williams, who has come in to relieve him.

Round Nine

BEST: LeGarrette Blount RB/PHI – JEFF Of course, this is based solely on his week four performance. With Sproles out for the year, Blount just got 16 carries and was solid. He appears to be a solid 1st and 2nd down, plus goal line back in Philly.

WORST: Hunter Henry TE/LAC – ROBIO He’s started for two different teams already and put up zero fantasy points in those two starts. Sad. He can’t even get Antonio Gates out of the lineup. He was drafted to be my starter and now is a free agent.

Round Ten

BEST: SEAHAWKS DST/SEA – ROBIO In a round that has produced so many sleeper studs over the years, I have to give it to a defense right now. And that’s not saying much, as the Seahawks are only the 11th best defense in fantasy.

WORST: John Brown WR/ARI – MATT This is a battle between Corey Davis (Rob M) and Brown, but I’m giving it to the latter. Fact is, at least Davis had one decent outing before getting hurt. Brown has done nothing yet in his two starts.

Round Eleven

BEST: Ravens DST/BAL – Eric Nothing really good has come from this round. At least the Ravens are a top-10 defense (currently 9th).

WORST: Patriots DST/NE – MATT The Pats D has been just awful, like historically awful. They have given up 33 points in three of their four games and have produced just 18 fantasy points on the season. Yes, 18.

Round Twelve

BEST: Duke Johnson RB/CLE – ROB M Despite the fact he doesn’t start and this is not a PPR league, Duke is the 21st best back in fantasy. No bad. Just imagine if he ever got the start? He could be a game changer.

WORST: Joe Williams, RB/SF – ROBIO This one is easy. Williams didn’t even earn the handcuff job and has scored zero fantasy points.

Round Thirteen

BEST: Jacquizz Rodgers RB/TB – MARC After this week, Rodgers will be removed from this spot, as Doug Martin is expected to take his starting job back. Plus, there is some real talent coming from round 13. Adam Thielen (Rich C) is a decent receiver, Alvin Kamara (Bob) could be the best back in New Orleans. Latavius Murray is now the starter in Minnesota, but for now, Rodgers has been starting for Marc for nearly the entire season.

WORST: John Ross WR/CIN – MATT He’s played in only one game and has -6 fantasy points. That is all.

Round Fourteen

BEST: Deshaun Watson QB/HOU – ROBIO Every year there is a guy I draft in the final 3-4 rounds that ends up being a stud…for someone else. That my be Watson this year. He’s exploded on the scene, scoring over 1,100 points in just 2+ games. Hell, Bob picked him up and benched Cam this week and it paid off big time.

WORST: Jason Tucker PK/BAL – BOB What’s worse, Tucker has made just two of four field goal tries in his last three games and tried just one extra point in his last two or the fact Bob is still starting him each week?

Round Fifteen

BEST: Bengals DST/CIN – BOB They’re a top-six defense. That’s really all I got.

WORST: Nick Novak PK/HOU – JEFF He was cut before the season even started.
