2017 Mid-Season All-Injured Team

We’ve talked about busts and we’ve hit on the All-Robio, but now it’s time to spend some time with those who left us too early. These are the stars who were meant to lead us to glory, but instead will watch us from the IR, as our teams (except Bob) crumble. This is…

THE 2017 ALL-INJURY TEAM

QB – Aaron Rodgers (Robio) Drafted in the second round to be the difference maker for my squad, Rodgers was solid, averaging 308 points per game, breaking 330 in each of his last three. Yet in week six, on his fourth throw, he was sacked and broke his collarbone and was done for the year.

Two weeks in and I have yet to get a 300-point performance from any of the three arms I added to my roster to replace Rodgers.

HONORABLE QB MENTION: Andrew Luck (Rich C) wasn’t drafted to be a starter, but was expected to be back by now and would either instantly become Calderon’s starter or solid trade bait. Instead, he remains out and could be shut down for the remainder of the year.

RB – David Johnson (Griff) For two straight seasons, Johnson has delivered All-Robio stats and with one more year as a keeper, he was crucial of Griff was going to get back to the postseason.

Well, that dream might have ended in week one, as Johnson broke his wrist after just 17 touches in the season’s first game. He’s due back around week 13, but Griff’s season could already be over by then.

With no proper handcuff, Griff has struggled to find legit runners to fill his backfield and has just won two of his eight games this year.

RB – Dalvin Cook (Bob) Drafted in the second round, two spots behind Fournette, three spots ahead of Hunt, there is little doubt the former Florida State back would have enjoyed the same success as those two if he didn’t tear an ACL.

He was the feature back, catching the ball and getting red zone love. He had 274 in week one and 398 two weeks later. He was on pace for a second straight 300-pt game before getting hurt in week four.

So far, McKinnon has proved to be a solid handcuff, but Bob failed to have him or land him.

HONORABLE QB MENTION: Chris Carson (Bob) was the second starting back that Bob lost in week four. He picked him up in week two and while he wasn’t a true RB1, he was solid, going for 200 and 164, before breaking his ankle in his fourth game.

WR – Odell Beckham (Marc) The second overall pick wasn’t helping Marc earn any victories, but he was the one piece he had to trade when he decided to throw in the towel. After missing week one, the Giants receiver had a pair of 270+ games, before getting knocked out for the year in week five.

WR – Allen Robinson (Matt) Not a projected starter, with Matt struggling at the wide receiver spot, I bet he’s missing Robinson now. Drafted in the fifth round, the Jaguars receiver caught just one ball for 17 yards before suffering a ACL injury.

TE – Greg Olsen (Griff) The second of two potential All-Robio players that Griff lost just two weeks into the season. Olsen struggled out of the gate, catching just two balls in week one. He had just one catch in week two, before a foot injury ended his season.

PK – Sebastian Janikowski (Matt) The Raiders kicker was the first pick in the fifteenth round, but he never sniffed the field and was cut before week one began. Fun fact: Despite playing in this league since 2000, he has never earned an All-Robio award.
