ROUND ONE
1. Rich B – Matt Forte RB CHI | Pos Rank: #3 | 3426 points When you only have one pick among the top 22, one can’t afford to miss here. Burrier did not miss.
2. Eric – Calvin Johnson WR DET | Pos Rank: #24 | 1748 points Four straight years as an All-Robio player, including three straight first-teams. Megatron was as close as one gets to being a “can’t miss” player…of course, unless he gets hurt. By season’s end, Eric had dumped him for the future to Bob.
3. Don – Giovani Bernard RB CIN | Pos Rank: #18 | 1790 points Through five weeks, Gio was a stud, averaging 273 points per game. However, he got hurt and ended up splitting the backfield with Hill, averaging just 106.5 in his final four games. By next season, he could be the backup (he was by the end of the NFL season), so it might be a long time before he’s ever picked this early again.
4. Matt – Demaryius Thomas WR DEN | Pos Rank: #2 | 3130 points Matt said he wanted Demaryius Thomas as early as June. I didn’t quite believe him. I was wrong and Matt was extremely right to grab the Broncos receiver this early. Yet, his huge drop in the final minutes of the title game will haunt Matt for a while.
5. Jeff – Jamaal Charles RB KC (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #8 | 2702 points No doubt Jeff should have kept Bell over Charles (he could have kept Bell in round four) and at first it looked like a terrible decision as Charles averaged just 164 in the season’s first six weeks. However, Stella got his groove back averaging 292 PPG after the bye-week. He wasn’t as good as Bell, but at least Charles proved his worth down the stretch, even if he didn’t pay off for Jeff.
6. Rob M – Marshawn Lynch RB SEA | Pos Rank: #4 | 3226 points In a surprise move, Masterson traded up with Bob to land Lynch; a bit of a risky move since many thought the Seattle running back was a primed breakdown candidate. Well, after a brief struggle early, Lynch once again proved to be one of the league’s top backs. Things didn’t go right for Rob down the stretch, but at least he can’t blame this pick.
7. Molly – Julio Jones WR ATL – Pos Rank: #7 – 2610 points After a blazing hot start to the season, Jones cooled as the Falcons O-line and passing game struggled. He broke 200 just twice in his final seven games, before he exploded for 438 and 578 points in the season’s final week and the quarterfinals. However, when Molly needed him the most (in the semis against Matt), he sat out with an injury. In the end, it was only a bad pick when you see who was picked next.
8. Colby – DeMarco Murray RB DAL – Pos Rank: #1 – 3870 points There were a ton of solid running backs taken in round one, but none better than Murray. By the end of our regular season, he had over 400 yards rushing more than the next guy (Bell), producing eleven 100-yard games in 13 weeks. He finished as the 2014 MVP. Congratulations.
9. Bob – Aaron Rodgers QB GB | Pos Rank: #3 | 4240 points “Relax.” That’s what Aaron Rodgers told his fans after a rough first couple weeks. Bob certainly didn’t panic and he was rewarded with 32 touchdowns and just three interceptions (through 13 weeks), earning third-team All-Robio.
10. Robio – Dez Bryant WR DAL | Pos Rank: #8 | 2504 points Dez lacked a lot of “great” games, breaking 200 just twice in the Robioland regular season, but he was a model of consistency throughout the season.
11. Griff – A.J. Green WR CIN | Pos Rank: #29 | 1646 points Megatron wasn’t the only star receiver to struggle with injuries in 2014. Green ended up missing four games and struggled with a bad toe for most of the season. However, he did manage to kick it in high gear at the end of the season, producing 508 points in his quarterfinals upset over 2-seeded Colby.
12. Rich C – Jordy Nelson WR GB | Pos Rank: #3 | 2838 points Prior to the season, Nelson’s name didn’t get mentioned along side the elites, but I feel like after this season he will not be forgotten in that conversation after producing 98 receptions, 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.
ROUND TWO
13. Rich C – LeSean McCoy RB PHI (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #10 | 2438 points He bragged he was the best back in football prior to the season. That’s the one way to guarantee you’re going to be a disappointment. He still managed 1,319 rushing yards, which is pretty solid. However, he had just 155 receiving yards, too low for a guy who once caught 78 passes in a season.
14. Griff – Jimmy Graham TE NO | Pos Rank: #3 | 1850 points For the most part, it was another successful season for Graham. He hit 100 yards just once, but he still managed to dominate in the red zone, scoring nine touchdowns, despite missing one game and getting shutout in another.
15. Robio – Doug Martin RB TB | Pos Rank: #61 | 744 points Wow. Fucking wow. Prior to the draft, the three players I was thinking of taking with this pick were Martin, Le’Von Bell and Antonio Brown. The latter two earn first-team All-Robio awards. Martin…he was cut by me before midseason, producing just 494 yards on the season, 328 of that after I cut him.
16. Bob – Antonio Brown WR PIT | Pos Rank: #1 | 3234 points Pick one…Bob lands the third best QB and arguable the best arm by the end of the NFL seasons. With his second pick, he lands the top receiver (Brown). That’s how you come up just six points per game short of averaging 1,600 on the season.
17. Colby – Drew Brees QB NO | Pos Rank: #4 | 3716 points All season long Brees felt like a disappointment, yet when our regular season ended, he finished fourth, one spot behind Aaron Rodgers. It helped that he had his two best games of the year in weeks 12/13, combining for 880 points.
18. Molly – Adrian Peterson RB | MIN (Keeper) Pos Rank: N/A | 186 points There was nothing Molly could have done about this one. It’s not like he had some injury issues or prior legal issues and she should have been cautious. It’s just sad after seeing how well she drafted and imagining how good her team could have been if Peterson played more than one game.
19. Rob M – Randall Cobb WR GB | Pos Rank: #10 | 2468 points This just goes to prove, drafting the second best receiver on a great offense is still better than drafting a WR1 in a bad offense. Cobb finished top-10 after scoring 10 touchdowns in the season’s first nine games.
20. Jeff – Le’Veon Bell RB PIT | Pos Rank: #2 | 3678 points An excellent pick, as Bell exploded onto the scene. However, history is going to look back and not be happy with Jeff. First, he could have kept Bell in round four the previous season and didn’t. He then ended up trading Bell in a desperate attempt to save a failed season and lost his chance at keeping one of the league’s best players for two more years.
21. Matt – Arian Foster RB HOU | Pos Rank: #6 | 2912 points The injury issues were real, as Foster ended up missing three games. However, when he was in there, he was rolling. Think about it, he finished sixth among all backs despite missing those three contests. Matt will have a tough choice next year. Does he keep Foster in round two for two more years or Eddie Lacy in round four for just one?
22. Don – Andre Johnson WR HOU | Pos Rank: #37 | 1470 points Finally, Andre Johnson slowed down. Of course how much of that has to do with his quarterback situation? He finished with 85 catches and failed to hit 1,000 yards for just the fourth time in 12 seasons in the league.
23. Eric – Reggie Bush RB DET | Pos Rank: #58 | 780 points Bush was never healthy (missing five games) and even when he was playing, he didn’t accomplish much. He never once crossed 100 total yards, never got more than 12 carries and scored just once all season.
24. Rich B – Ryan Mathews RB SD | Pos Rank: #51 | 882 points After a solid week one (180 points), Mathews went down and didn’t return until week 11. Sad too, considering he did put up around 200 fantasy points per game in just 17 quarters of football.
ROUND THREE
25. Rich B – Bishop Sankey RB TEN | Pos Rank: #40 | 1246 points An utter failure that luckily didn’t crush Burrier’s season, thank you Justin Forsett. Even when Sankey got the starting job, he did nothing. His best game was 61 yards rushing, scoring just twice all season long. He finished his season on my bench.
26. Eric – Toby Gerhart RB JAC | Pos Rank: #62 | 722 points A second straight running back taken in round two. Gerhart was handed the Jaguars backfield, but blew it first by just sucking, then getting hurt. He was cut by mid-season and never picked up.
27. Don – Michael Crabtree WR SF | Pos Rank: #42 | 1402 points When healthy, Crabtree was a WR1 with Kaepernick at QB, but for whatever reason he could never get started, never sniffing 100 yards in a game, hitting 200 fantasy points just three times all year. Back-to-back wide receiver fails in rounds two (Johnson) and three (Crabtree) are hard to overcome.
28. Matt – Cordarrelle Patterson WR MIN | Pos Rank: #66 | 1046 points With Norv Turner calling the plays, Patterson was being called the next Michael Irvin after a solid final month of his rookie season. Instead, he bombed, catching just 33 balls all season long, 12 less than his rookie season and was eventually cut. Something tells me he won’t be a third-round pick in 2015.
29. Jeff – Roddy White WR ATL | Pos Rank: #31 | 1624 points The Falcons offense struggled and White never could get going. Yet, despite finishing just 31st among wide receivers, this is arguable the 4th or 5th best pick in an awful second round.
30. Bob – Larry Fitzgerald WR ARI | Pos Rank: #41 | 1406 points For little over a month, Fitzgerald looked like the Fitzgerald of old, averaging 208 points per game between weeks 6-10. It was enough to allow Bob to trade him as part of the Le’Veon Bell. However, thanks to injuries, Larry did nothing to help Jeff reach the playoffs.
31. Molly – Emmanuel Sanders WR DEN – Pos Rank: #4 – 2806 points The top pick in round three, Sanders exploded onto the scene, replacing Eric Decker in Denver. He became just the second receiver to earn a first or second-team All-Robio award for Molly. She needed this after her last two third-round picks were huge busts (Helu in 2012 and Ball in 2013).
32. Colby – Brandon Marshall WR CHI (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #22 | 1770 points Struggling with nagging injuries and having Jay Cutler as his quarterback, Marshall failed to hit 100 in five out of six games in weeks 3-8. In all, he didn’t score 100 in seven of his 13 games, rotating in and out of Colby’s lineup.
33. Rob M – Vincent Jackson WR TB (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #35 | 1494 points It’s bad enough to flop. It is worse when you allow a rookie receiver (Mike Evans) to pass you as the king in Tampa. Jackson scored 200 points in a game just twice all season.
34. Robio – Montee Ball RB DEN (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #77 | 494 points Robio One of my greatest fails of all time. Ball was expected to be the centerpiece of another championship run. Instead, he and my second round pick helped lead me to one of my worst teams ever.
35. Griff – Pierre Garcon WR WAS | Pos Rank: #56 | 1194 points With the quarterback situation in Washington a complete mess, Garcon could never kick it in high gear. He had just one 100-yard game and was on pace to have less targets in 2014 than he had catches in 2013.
36. Rich C – Matthew Stafford QB DET | Pos Rank: #15 | 2672 points Rich C By grabbing Stafford, it was believed Rich got an elite, top-five quarterback, without wasting a first or second-round pick. Well, with a new offensive scheme and without Megatron for most of the year, Stafford proved to be one of the biggest fails of 2014.
ROUND FOUR
37. Rich C – Michael Floyd WR ARI | Pos Rank: #55 | 1228 points Rich C Early in the season, it looked like Calderon had stolen himself a WR1 in the fourth round. Floyd had a pair of 220+ games in two of the first three weeks. Yet, that would be the highlight of his season. He’d catch just 20 more passes through week 13 and could be found on Calderon’s bench for the remainder of the year.
38. Griff – Shane Vereen RB NE | Pos Rank: #23 | 1690 points In typical Patriots form, Vereen was solid one game, crap the next. He scored 202 in week one, but just eight the next. He scored 348 in week 7, but jut 14 and 90 before and after that game. It’s become clear the Pats coaching staff won’t let this guy be a feature back.
39. Robio – Joique Bell RB DET | Pos Rank: #16 | 1868 points Even with Reggie Bush down and out for much of the season, Bell could never take advantage of it. He wasn’t tragic, but he never got 20 carries in a game, he never crossed 100 yards and he scored just three touchdowns. Sadly, Bell was the best back I had even though I drafted a RB in rounds two, three and four.
40. Rob M – Matt Ryan QB ATL | Pos Rank: #9 | 3126 points For a hot minute, Ryan looked like a steal for Rob. He rocked out the best score of week one (498) and followed up that with a pair of 300+ games in weeks three and four. However, injuries killed an already-suspect offensive line and Ryan’s stats fell far. By midseason, Rob was forced to trade for Jay Cutler.
41. Colby – Victor Cruz WR NYG | Pos Rank: #85 | 734 points Already set at wide receiver, Colby went for depth early by grabbing Cruz in round four. He was inconsistent; three games below 50 to go along with a pair of 200-point games. However, in week six his season came to an end against the Eagles and he was cut by Colby.
42. Molly – Chris Johnson RB NYJ | Pos Rank: #34 | 1376 points In need of a second back to ride along with Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson was a reach at best, but there was hope being in a new home in New York. Sadly, he was never able to stop sharing carries with Chris Ivory, which was only bad since Molly lost Peterson and she had little choice but to start Johnson for stretches this season.
43. Bob – Rob Gronkowski TE | NE (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #1 | 2360 points Bob had a ton of great keeper options in category one, but he rolled some huge dice when he kept Gronkowski in round four, despite his recent injury history. It paid off. It took a few weeks, but once he got going, Gronkowski was producing WR1 numbers by mid-season, averaging 238 PPG in his final nine games, giving Bob his third first-team All-Robio player.
44. Jeff – Frank Gore RB SF | Pos Rank: #20 | 1756 points At this point, it’s amazing that Gore is still playing in the NFL, but it’s hard to see him still being fantasy-worthy moving forward. Yes, he’ll produce a 400-point game every once in a blue moon like he did in week four, but he also failed to hit 100 points five times. Hard to see how this guy holds off Hyde next season.
45. Matt – Eddie Lacy RB GB (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #7 | 2754 points Through three weeks, Lacy struggled to get rolling, averaging just 91 points per game. Yet, he would become one of the best backs in football, delivering 288 points per game starting in week five. He’s a big reason Matt came within one point of winning his third title.
46. Don – Stevan Ridley RB NE | Pos Rank: #54 | 840 points Just look at his weekly results: 56, 262, 122, 56, 286, 58. This is why you don’t draft Patriots’ running backs. They can’t be trusted. Ridley going out for the year in week six actually did Don a favor.
47. Eric – Torrey Smith WR BAL | Pos Rank: #27 | 1698 points Once again Smith’s season can be broken into two parts. Part one (weeks 1-5) averaged just 82 points per game. In part two (the finals six games), he averaged 214 PPG.
48. Rich B – Trent Richardson RB IND – Pos Rank: #30 |1446 points Ahmad Bradshaw and Trent Richardson were a wonderful combo in Indianapolis. The problem is, wonderful combinations are terrible in fantasy football.
ROUND FIVE
49. Rich B – DeSean Jackson WR WAS | Pos Rank: #14 | 2180 points Hey, he finished 14th among receivers. That makes him a high-end WR2. Yet, it never felt like he was that good this season, did it? Turns out, 81% of his stats came in just six of his 13 games, so that explains a little.
50. Eric – Robert Griffin III QB WAS (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #42 | 546 points As a rookie in 2012, RGIII finished as the highest scoring player in the league. Now he’s getting sat for Colt McCoy. Amazing how far one can fall. He was eventually cut by Eric.
51. Don – Fred Jackson RB BUF | Pos Rank: #25 | 1582 points The Bills keep bringing in younger and flasher guys, yet every year it’s Fred Jackson who leads their backs in points. This season he was just 25th, but that’s with him missing some time due to injury (he got just six total carries in weeks 6-11).
52. Matt – Mike Wallace WR MIA | Pos Rank: #25 | 1744 points In 2010, Wallace gained 1,257 yards in Pittsburgh and now it’s time to face the facts, he’s never going to reach those numbers again. He was eventually traded by Matt along with a ton of other pieces to me for Dez Bryant.
53. Jeff – Tom Brady QB NE | Pos Rank: #6 | 3462 points Through four weeks, Brady looked washed up. His line couldn’t protect him and he was averaging just 133 fantasy points per game. Jeff as a team was struggling to get wins, so he decided to make a change at QB. Of course, instead of just benching him, he cut Brady. Huge mistake. As Jeff continued to struggle at QB, Brady exploded, averaging 366 points per game the remainder of the year. Bob ended up grabbing him quickly, eventually trading him late in the season for Megatron to Eric
54. Bob – Ray Rice RB | BAL | Pos Rank: N/A | 0 points He beat his future wife and was suspended for a pair of games. Then the video came out and he was gone for the year, never to play a game in 2014. Lesson learned…if you’re going to beat a woman, do it not on video. He ended up the year on my team, but not because he was going to do anything this year.
55. Molly – T.Y. Hilton WR | IND | Pos Rank: #6| 2630 points With Julio Jones and Emmanuel Sanders already in her back pocket, Molly continued to kill it at the wide receiver spot, grabbing the favorite target of the league’s top quarterback (Luck), giving Molly an elite threesome, which I’m willing to bet is not the first time someone has said that about Molly.
56. Colby – Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK | Pos Rank: #93 | 324 points Maurice Jones-Drew failed to do much in his final two years in Jacksonville and a move to Oakland did not help at all, as he finished our regular season with just 41 carries and 90 yards, falling deep down the Raiders depth chart. Colby eventually cut him.
57. Rob M – Terrance West RB CLE | Pos Rank: #37 | 1318 points He was drafted as protection for Ben Tate and was given the backfield quickly when Tate got hurt in week one. For a brief moment, West looked like he could become THE guy, delivering back-to-back 200+ games. Yet, it proved to be a fluke, as he struggled with a thick backfield, producing a 200-yard game just once more.
58. Robio – Vernon Davis TE SF | Pos Rank: #31 | 548 points For the previous five years, Davis was one of the best tight ends in football. Was he Gronkowski or Graham? No, but he wasn’t that far off…until this year. Davis fell off the face of the earth, never approaching 50 yards in any game. He did manage two touchdowns in week one, but never sniffed the end zone again.
59. Griff – Peyton Manning QB DEN (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #2 | 4258 points After three seasons, Manning proved to be one of the best picks in league history. After finishing 3rd and 1st the previous two seasons for Griff, Manning delivered the trifecta, finishing second in his final year with Mr. Coomer. Not bad for a fifth-round pick.
60. Rich C – Jeremy Hill RB CIN | Pos Rank: #14 | 2056 points Calderon loved his pick here. I did not. Time will tell if Hill can be anything more then a share, but I’ll admit, he finished 14th, which is better than I thought he would be and by season’s end he was the starting back, making him a sweet keeper prospect in round five.
ROUND SIX
61. Rich C – Carlos Hyde RB SF | Pos Rank: #52 | 878 points One pick after picking a backup running back, Calderon grabs another one in Carlos Hyde. However, unlike Hill who was backing up a second-year player (first-round pick in our draft), yet managed to start at the end Hyde backed up a very old Gore, but still was never able to dislodge him as the starter. Still, he could be a good keeper in 2015 if Gore is shipped out of SF.
62. Griff – Kendall Wright WR TEN | Pos Rank: #30 | 1624 points With no quarterback in Tennessee, drafting a Titans’ wide out is pretty futile these days. Despite missing just two games, Wright caught 37 less balls and 364 less yards this season compared to last.
63. Robio – Kelvin Benjamin WR CAR | Pos Rank: #15 | 2098 points While he was eventually passed by Mike Evans as the best rookie receiver in the league, Benjamin was arguable the best for a full season. He scored over 200 in three of his first four games, produced only four games all year under 100 and then hit a pair of 200’s later in the year. He could be a stud by year three and should be a good keeper option for Colby, who traded for him mid-season.
64. Rob M – Brandin Cooks WR NO | Pos Rank: #36 | 1486 points Another rookie receiver, this one drafted to play in one of the league’s best offenses…or so we thought. Cooks had some amazing games, hitting 250 in week one and 316 later in the year. However, overall he was too inconsistent, before going down for the year in week 12. However, he should be a solid keeper option in year two.
65. Colby – Rashad Jennings RB NYG (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #19 | 1782 points Despite the Giants offensive struggles, especially at the offensive line, Jennings had a decent year and he ended up crashing the top-20, despite missing four games. Just imagine if he stayed healthy. He could have easily cracked the top-10.
66. Molly – Dennis Pitta TE BAL | Pos Rank: #56 | 250 points Pitta played just three games before a season-ending injury sent him packing. Luckily for Molly, she had Martellus Bennett sitting and waiting on her bench.
67. Bob – Andre Ellington RB ARI (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #11 | 2350 points Projected to be one of the better keeper sleepers this season and Ellington didn’t disappoint. In fact, he was a top-10 back for most of the season, averaging 288 PPG once Carson Palmer returned from injury. However, once Palmer went down for the year, Ellington’s stats slipped hard and thanks to injury, he was benched and eventually cut by the time Bob made his championship run.
68. Jeff – Noel Grigsby WR OAK | Pos Rank: N/A | 0 points Probably the first and only time a player was drafted even though he was waived a month before the fantasy draft. Jeff might want to consider updating those fantasy football magazines.
69. Matt – Zach Ertz TE PHI | Pos Rank: #14 | 1010 points He was a popular sleeper pick, so it wasn’t shocking when Matt put him down as his starting TE. Well, he started hot, scoring 214 and 172 in weeks one and two. However, those would be his highlights. He would break 100 just two more times all season until scoring 230 in the title game. Next year, it’s hard to imagine Ertz gets penciled in as anyone’s starting TE to start the season.
70. Don – Jason Witten TE DAL | Pos Rank: #12 | 1178 points For a decade, Jason Witten has been a top-five stud TE. However, it appears those days might be over. He’s still good (cracking the top-10), but he never hit 100 yards, he scored just four touchdowns and broke 200 fantasy points once all season.
71. Eric – Alfred Morris RB WAS (Keeper) Pos Rank: #9 2456 points Amazingly, Morris never seemed to really turn it on. He rushed for 100 yards just once and caught 14 passes on the season. That’s not great numbers. Yet, he still managed to finish ninth among all backs. One would think with all the passing struggles in D.C., they would have rode Morris, but Helu took up too much space in the backfield.
72. Rich B – Terrance Williams WR DAL | Pos Rank: #48 | 1324 points The Cowboys receiver was fools gold, as he scored six touchdowns in the season’s first eight weeks and Rich had him sitting pretty in his starting lineup Yet, once he stopped scoring (no touchdowns after week eight), he became a horrible fantasy option and was back on Rich’s bench.
ROUND SEVEN
73. Rich B – Andrew Luck QB IND (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #1 | 4566 points It took three years, but Luck finally paid off, as he finished our regular season as the league’s top quarterback. He was a huge reason why Burrier was able to turn 0-3 into a four-seed.
74. Eric Greg – Olsen TE | CAR | Pos Rank: #2 | 1856 points There’s typically Gronkowski and Graham and everyone else…but thanks to Graham’s injury, Olsen was able to sneak into the second spot among all tight ends, averaging 143 points per game. Not bad considering the Panthers offense was anything but good this year.
75. Don – Julian Edelman WR NE | Pos Rank: #21 | 1774 points After scoring 472 points in the season’s first two weeks, it looked like Edelman would be Brady’s top target. Yet, as Gronkowski got healthy and Brady discovered Brandon LeFall, Edelman’s stats began to slip to the point where having him in Don’s starting lineup would be a negative thing.
76. Matt – Knowshon Moreno RB MIA | Pos Rank: #86 | 372 points After watching Lamar Miller producer 900 total yards, averaging 4.86 yards per carry, we have to remember that Moreno was the official starter in Miami and had 134 yards on 24 carries in week one. Oh what could have been.
77. Jeff – Kyle Rudolph TE MIN | Pos Rank: #44 | 426 points Rudolph had just 10 catches in the season’s first three weeks before being knocked out for eight weeks. Hard to see anyone wasting a top-seven pick on the Vikings TE next year.
78. Bob – Andre Williams RB NYG | Pos Rank: #39 | 1258 points With a unproven backfield, Bob needed to reach for some handcuffs, which is exactly what Williams was. Of course in week four, with Jennings out, it appeared Bob might catch a break. Yet, Williams was never really able to shine and was benched once Jennings came back.
79. Molly – Markus Wheaton WR PIT | Pos Rank: #59 | 1164 points With Emmanuel Sanders gone, Wheaton was the popular pick to replace him. Yet, Antonio Brown got too many targets and Martavis Bryant started to look like the real sleeper. Wheaton never became a good fantasy option and was eventually cut by Molly.
80. Colby – Jordan Reed TE WAS | Pos Rank: #23 | 704 points Reed made one catch in week one and was knocked out until week six. It would take another six weeks for him to have a breakout game (scoring 246 points in week 13). He continues to be one of those “if only he could stay healthy” guys.
81. Rob M – Ben Tate RB MIN (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #46 | 1074 points Rob decided to dump Josh Gordon and kept Ben Tate. With a new start in Cleveland, he looked like a decent keeper, until he got hurt in week one. Yet, when Tate returned in week five, things looked golden, as he scored 244 and 276 in back-to-back games. Yet, the backfield got crowded and four weeks later he was actually cut, right when Gordon’s suspension ended. Cold, man.
82. Robio – Keenan Allen WR SD (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #26 | 1704 points A year after producing 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, I was actually worried about a sophomore slump, yet I had to keep him. I should have followed my gut. He had just one good game in his first seven and I sent him packing to Matt, where he became a bye-week replacement for Dez and Demaryius.
83. Griff – C.J. Spiller RB BUF (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #56 | 822 points It’s bad enough he’s been a huge disappointment, but now Spiller can’t even stay healthy. At best he’s a 10th round pick next year. He simply can’t be trusted, which is why Griff didn’t even bother to keep him as a keeper option next year.
84. Rich C – Devonta Freeman RB | ATL Pos Rank: #63 | 700 points Rich’s third straight backup running back. The Falcons backfield was crowded, but weak, so I had faith Freeman could become the starter this year. He didn’t, unable to get Steven Jackson out of the starting lineup. I decided to pick him up as a possible keeper next year.
ROUND EIGHT
85. Rich C – Marques Colston WR NO | Pos Rank: #40 | 1418 points Clearly, Colston is done as a reliable fantasy receiver. It’s sort of odd. He’s always been good, breaking 1,000 yards in six of his first eight years, but he was never able to become a great player. His best year was his second when he caught 98 balls for 1,202 yards and 11 touchdowns. We all assumed he would match that at some point, but he never did.
86. Griff – Mike Evans WR TB | Pos Rank: #12 | 2260 points Despite being a top-10 pick in the NFL draft, Evans didn’t get the love that the Saints’ Cook or Panthers’ Benjamin got and he didn’t have a great start to the season because of a pathetic Buccaneers offense. This explains why Griff cut him in week four and he sat on the wire for five weeks. However, the week Colby grabbed him, he exploded, averaging 405 points in his next three games. He became the top targeted receiver in Tampa over Vincent Jackson and earned the 2014 Robioland Rookie of the Year award.
87. Robio – Seahawks DST SEA | Pos Rank: #4 | 1733 points I grabbed the first defense off the board and while it looked like it paid off (they did finish fourth), they never had the feel of a great defense. In fact, by the time they put together a string of 200-point games, my season was long over.
88. Bob – Eric Decker WR NYJ | Pos Rank: #49 | 1302 points A year after putting up 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns with Peyton Manning, Decker learned that playing with Geno Smith and Michael Vick is a whole different world. Decker wouldn’t even sniff 1,000 yards this season, sitting on Bob’s bench all season long.
89. Colby – Bengals DST CIN | Pos Rank: #20 | 1119 points Being a big believer in defense, it wasn’t shocking that when Colby saw the top D go, he would pick one next. The problem is, too many DST’s that get drafted early, often fail to live up to the hype. The 2014 Bengals were one such defense. He ended up rotating them in and out of his lineup all season long.
90. Molly – Panthers DST CAR | Pos Rank: #27 | 981 points It’s official run on defenses. The previous season, the Panthers D was second-team All-Robio. This season they were the sixth worst in the league. Yet despite scoring below 20 points in a game five times, including three negative scores, Molly never stopped rotating the Panthers DST into her starting lineup.
91. Rob M- Christine Michael RB SEA | Pos Rank: #98 | 252 points If you’re going to trade up for Marshawn Lynch, a back everyone sort of feared was losing steam, then you better reach for his insurance. Luckily for Masterson, he never needed Michael.
92. Jeff Golden Tate WR DET (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #9 | 2502 points A surprise keeper who actually produced thanks to Megatron’s injury. During one five-week run as Detroit’s top target, Tate actually averaged a solid 276, putting up three 300+ games.
93. Matt – Nick Foles QB PHI (Keeper) Pos Rank: #23 1874 points Robio A year after putting up 27 touchdowns and two interceptions, Foles looked like an absolute steal. However, he managed just 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in a shortened 2014 season. Luckily for Matt, he was able to ship him off to me as part of the Dez Bryant trade. He started one game for me before going out for the year.
94. Don – Colin Kaepernick QB SF (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #14 | 2682 points It’s becoming quite routine. A QB comes out of a spread, read-option offense in college and he first blows the league away with his stunning athletic ability. However, after a couple of years, the league starts to figure him out and once he’s forced to be a quarterback, he digresses. Exhibit #242…this guy.
95. Eric – 49ers DST SF | Pos Rank: #5 | 1719 points Lil’ E takes the fourth defense in the round and considering the two before him finished 20th and 27th in the league, finishing 5th is pretty damn good.
96. Rich B – Ladarius Green TE SD | Pos Rank: #45 | 422 points This guy was on everyone’s sleeper radar, expecting to pass up Antonio Gates as the top targeted TE in a offense that favors the tight end. The only problem? No one told Gates he was supposed to go away. Green hit 200+ yards for the year and by season’s end he was starting on just 3% of CBS rosters, which makes me want to ask…who are those 3% who have this guy in their starting lineup?
ROUND NINE
97. Rich B – Jonathan Grimes RB HOU | Pos Rank: #91 | 338 points I guess it’s never too early to grab someone else’s handcuff, especially when he’s backing up Arian Foster. However, the problem was, Grimes ended up not being the real back up, instead sitting back as the third stringer.
98. Eric – Wes Welker WR DEN | Pos Rank: #86 | 708 points Now you’re starting to understand why the Patriots didn’t want to re-sign this guy to a big contract. After a brilliant four-year stretch of his career, Welker has looked old of late, failing to sniff 1,000 yards for the second straight season. In fact, his 2014 numbers are his worst since his rookie year with the Dolphins.
99. Don – Broncos DST DEN | Pos Rank: #7 | 1608 points The Broncos D made a ton of offseason additions that eventually paid off. They got off to a rough start, failing to break 100 in any of their first three games, but certainly had some productive moments later in the season, remaining Don’s top option at defense all season long.
100. Matt – Rams DST STL | Pos Rank: #16 | 1299 points Thanks to injuries and a bad offense, the Rams DST proved to be one of the biggest disappointments in 2014. Through eight weeks they averaged a pathetic 48 points per game and didn’t last past four weeks with Matt. However, they started to piece things together in week nine. Matt picked them up again in week ten and they delivered back-to-back 300+ games in weeks 13 and 14. Heading into the title game, his defense was considered one of the few strengths vs. Bob. Instead, the Rams DST proved to be the nail in his coffin, as they collapsed against the Giants, scoring -72 points in the title game.
101. Jeff – Chiefs DST KC | Pos Rank: #12 | 1383 points Becoming the third straight DST to be taken, the Chiefs D was never able to field a healthy squad, losing a pair of stars early to ACL injuries. Every now and then they’d show glimpsed of greatness (vs NE in week four and again in week eight vs. STL), but they were more hurtful than helpful for most of the season, eventually ending up rotating in and out of Bob’s starting lineup.
102. Bob – Lamar Miller RB MIA | Pos Rank: #12 | 2130 points Last year Miller was handed the starting job and he failed, so the Fins brought in Knowshon Moreno. Well, after one solid game, Moreno went down and the job belonged to Miller by default. This time, he produced all season long. He had four straight 200+ games, hitting 170 in all by three games (two of those games he didn’t finish because of injury) late in the season, yet Bob still went and got Le’Veon Bell. In the end though, Bob lost Ellington to injury and in the end, Lamar Miller earned the title game MVP with a 360-point performance.
103. Molly – Dexter McCluster RB TEN | Pos Rank: #66 | 620 points Heading into the season, the Titans backfield was a mess, so it was smart to grab just about anyone who ran the ball there (think Alfred Morris in D.C. two years ago). Sadly for Molly though, McCluster never got an opportunity. She cut him by week five, which is pretty bad considering how RB desperate she was all season long.
104. Colby – Bernard Pierce RB | BAL | Pos Rank: #64 | 662 points A potential sleeper pick, Pierce had two weeks to audition for the starting job while Rice was suspended. In fact, when Rice was declared out for the year, it was huge after Pierce had 206 fantasy points in week two. However, the Ravens instead went with Forsett and Pierce rotated back and forth from second string to third string. He was cut in week six by Colby, picked up my Molly, where he sat on her bench until playoff time.
105. Rob M – Reggie Wayne WR IND | Pos Rank: #43 | 1392 points Coming off an ACL injury is always tough, especially when you’re as old as Reggie Wayne. He put up a couple of nice games (including 298 in week four vs TEN), but it was clear T.Y. Hilton was Luck’s top target. He was eventually cut by Rob and picked up by me, but he never got any playing time on my shit team.
106. Robio – Tony Romo QB DAL | Pos Rank: #16 | 2664 points I was shocked that Romo lasted as long as he did and even after a slow start to the season, he actually put up decent numbers, averaging 303 points per game of his next five. However, with the Cowboys so focused on giving the ball to DeMarco Murray, Romo was never able to keep up with the elite quarterbacks in the league, especially after he injured his back against the Redskins in week eight. He was eventually dumped to Bob late in the season, who landed Le’Von Bell for Romo, C.J. Anderson and Larry Fitzgerald.
107. Griff – Pierre Thomas RB NO | Pos Rank: #47 | 1040 points There’s an old saying. Never put any faith in a Saints’ running back. Well, now we can say, never put any faint in a Saints’ running back unless his name is Mark Ingram.
108. Rich C – Julius Thomas TE DEN (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #7 | 1572 points For a hot minute, he looked like the best tight end in football. Rich’s keeper had 388 in week one and a pair of 200+ games in weeks five and six. However, his numbers began to dip in week seven. He would end up putting up just one more 200-point game, before getting knocked out for the remainder of the fantasy season in week 12.
ROUND TEN
109. Rich C – Steven Jackson RB ATL | Pos Rank: #22 | 1698 points Jackson’s best days are long gone. The longest active running back in the league can’t average four yards per carry and didn’t approach 200 carries despite technically being a starter in Atlanta. By season’s end, he was on Don’s squad.
110. Griff – Khiry Robinson RB NO | Pos Rank: #59 | 772 points Free Agent He was a popular sleeper pick in a city that hasn’t seen a great fantasy running back in a long time after picking up 224 yards on 54 carries as a rookie. However, it was Mark Ingram who established himself as the number one option in the Saints’ backfield.
111. Robio – Josh Gordon WR CLE | Pos Rank: N/A | 390 points This was nothing but a pick for the future. I redshirted him and will keep him hopefully for three more years…assuming he can avoid getting suspended.
112. Rob M – Mark Ingram RB NO | Pos Rank: #13 | 2116 points Despite missing three games early, Ingram stepped in and took control of the Saints backfield. He delivered a solid month of football (between weeks 8-11) where he averaged 305 points per game. He finished the season as one of Masterson’s starting backs and should be a solid keeper option heading into 2015.
113. Colby – Jay Cutler QB CHI | Pos Rank: #11 | 2980 points Cutler somehow becomes the highest paid quarterback in the land, then proceeds to do what Jay Cutler does, throwing 18 interceptions before being benched by season ends. At the very least, Colby was able to ship him off to Masterson in the deal that landed him Kelvan Benjamin.
114. Molly – Russell Wilson QB SEA | Pos Rank: #5 | 3708 points Wilson is sort of a strange beast…you never really considered him a great fantasy quarterback (he split time as Molly’s starting arm with Big Ben), yet he still managed to finish 5th among all quarterbacks, thanks to being the 15th best rusher in the league.
115. Bob – Cam Newton QB CAR | Pos Rank: #17 | 2480 points He was unhealthy heading into the season and he just never looked right and thanks to Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, he never sniffed Bob’s starting lineup. Cam was eventually traded to Eric as part of the Calvin Johnson trade. This could pay off for Eric, as Newton was actually pretty solid at the end, averaging 339 PPG in his final five of the NFL season.
116. Jeff – Shonn Greene RB TEN | Pos Rank: #74 | 530 points Greene was actually the starter to begin the season in Tennessee and after a 15 carry, 71-yard game to open the year, he looked like a possible sleeper. Yet, this was Shonn Greene we were talking about and that 71-yard performance would be the highlight of the regular season.
117. Matt – Philip Rivers QB SD | Pos Rank: #8 | 3260 points Despite lacking true stars at the wide receiver position, Rivers started the season putting up his best numbers. In fact, after eight weeks, people were throwing around the letters M-V-P. Matt was so confident in him, he shipped off Nick Foles to help him land Dez Bryant. However, by season’s end he was wildly inconsistent, forcing Matt to roll with Mark Sanchez for most of his post-season run.
118. Don – Ryan Tannehill QB MIA | Pos Rank: #10 | 3126 points He cracked the top-10, but I’m not sure that says much. Again, if you’re starting the 10th best quarterback, your team is probably not doing well. Luckily for Don, he never had to rely on Tannehill, who cracked 300 fantasy points just four times in our fantasy regular season.
119. Eric – Sammy Watkins WR BUF | Pos Rank: #28 | 1696 points Eric drafted Wakins for the future, redshirting him prior to the season. However, after a 1-4 start that featured an injured Calvin Johnson and a bad Percy Harvin, Eric activated him. The Bills’ rookie receiver rewarded his owner with a 364 and 374-point games in weeks seven and eight. Yet, as Eric was making one last desperate playoff push, Watkins had more sub-100 games than 200+ games.
120. Rich B – Texans DST HOU | Pos Rank: #10 | 1418 points It almost seemed like if J.J. Watts didn’t make a play, the Texans D didn’t make a stop. They failed to hit 100 fantasy points eight times, which means they could only be used during the right match ups.
ROUND ELEVEN
121. Rich B – Knile Davis RB KC | Pos Rank: #42 | 1216 points Burrier snagged Jeff’s handcuff and for a three-week period (weeks 2-4) Davis paid off, averaging 287 points per game while Jamaal Charles got healthy. However, once Charles got healthy, Davis was pointless.
122. Eric – Percy Harvin WR NYJ (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #67 | 1038 points Harvin was drafted in 2013 and redshirted for 2014 to lead Eric back to the promise land. In weeks one and two, it was clear the Seahawks had plans to get him the ball, as he hit 200 and 130 points. However, he struggled to produce and was shipped to the Jets. By then, he was sitting on Eric’s bench.
123. Don – DeAngelo Williams RB CAR | Pos Rank: #78 | 496 points He played in six games and barely ran for 200 total yards. It’s sort of shocking how much Williams has proven to be a one-hit wonder. If you recall when he rushed for over 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns back in 2008. That was his only 1,000-yard rushing season.
124. Matt – Andrew Hawkins WR CLE | Pos Rank: #33 | 1572 points He’s gotten better as his career has gone on, producing 63 receptions and 800+ yards on the year. However, it’s hard to imagine Hawkins ever being a WR1 in this league.
125. Jeff – Hakeem Nicks WR IND | Pos Rank: #88 | 674 points He hasn’t sniffed 1,000 yards in four years now and his first season in Indianapolis was his worst, as he hit 405 yards on just 38 receptions.
126. Bob – Eric Ebron TE DET | Pos Rank: #46 | 402 points He played just seven games in our regular season and never had more than 40 yards. However, with Rob Gronkowski in Bob’s lineup, he never had any need for Ebron and he was cut early.
127. Molly – Ben Roethlisberger QB | PIT (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #7 | 3454 points A surprised keeper who managed to split time at quarterback for Molly with Russell Wilson. His 2014 will be best remembered for his week’s eight and nine where he produced 862 yards, 12 touchdowns and no interceptions against the Colts and Ravens.
128. Colby – Riley Cooper WR PHI | Pos Rank: #70 | 944 points Despite being targeted a solid 95 times, Riley “N-Word” Cooper managed to haul in just 55 balls for 577 yards. Not the kind of numbers you want from a fantasy receiver.
129. Rob M – Jordan Cameron TE CLE (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #30 | 560 points The Browns passing game just wasn’t consistent enough and Cameron couldn’t stay healthy, so a potential amazing keeper turns into a flop. He produced just one game worth mentioning (102 yards and a TD in week six). That’s all, folks.
130. Robio – Ronnie Hillman RB DEN | Pos Rank: #38 | 1270 points I smartly drafted Monte Ball’s backup. Unfortunately I cut him right before Ball got hurt. Maybe he could have saved my season, as he averaged a solid 270 fantasy points in four games as the starter. Instead, those numbers ended up getting wasted on Jeff’s bench.
131. Griff – Cardinals DST ARI | Pos Rank: #8 | 1592 points Despite struggling to keep players healthy and dealing with an offense that couldn’t stay on the field, the Cardinals D finished in the top-eight. Not bad.
132. Rich C – Darren Sproles RB PHI | Pos Rank: #28 | 1486 points In Chip Kelly’s system, Sproles looked like a stud, putting up 230 and 416 points in weeks one and two. For a hot minute, it looked like he could be starter material. However, he ended up being just a pain in the ass for owners of LeSean McCoy (that would be Calderon) as he took away touches from the Eagles’ starting back.
ROUND TWELVE
133. Rich C – Justin Hunter WR TEN | Pos Rank: #58 | 1176 points After delivering nearly 20 yards per reception as a rookie, Hunter was what I would call a light sleeper. Yet, the Titans quarterback situation remained a joke and no WR in Tennessee was able to make his mark.
134. Griff – Andy Dalton QB CIN | Pos Rank: #18 | 2454 points Did you know that Dalton wins over 60% of his day games, but wins only about 30% of his games at night. Just remember that if you ever have to start Dalton in fantasy.
135. Robio – Darren McFadden RB OAK | Pos Rank: #33 | 1400 points I drafted him. Cut him. Then traded for him. Benched him. And then cut him. That’s my season in a nutshell.
136. Rob M – Patriots DST NE | Pos Rank: #17 | 1272 points They finished 17th, which isn’t that impressive, but if the matchup was right, the Patriots were a good start. In fact, after Masterson cut them, Bob grabbed them and started them in the title game.
137. Colby – Lance Dunbar RB DAL | Pos Rank: #72 | 540 points It seemed like a very smart handcuff pick, but the reality was it was Joseph Randle who was DeMarco Murray’s backup. Luckily for Colby, he never needed a Cowboys backup RB.
138. Molly – Dri Archer RB PIT | Pos Rank: N/A | 100 points With Le’Veon Bell rolling like he was Eric Dickerson, there was no room for Archer in Pittsburgh and no need to have him on Molly’s squad.
139. Bob – Jonathan Stewart RB CAR | Pos Rank: #41 | 1232 points He had 809 yards on the year despite missing three games, which made him the best option in Carolina. Of course that’s not saying much. Yet, he did average 235 fantasy points in his last five week’s of the NFL season, which means once again someone will draft him next year.
140. Jeff – Geno Smith QB NYJ | Pos Rank: #32 | 1230 points He finished with 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, which was an actual improvement from 12/21 the year before. However, he still got benched for Michael Vick and didn’t last long on Jeff’s team.
141. Matt – LeGarrette Blount RB NE | Pos Rank: #45 | 1086 points The best he could do in Pittsburgh was get high with Le’Veon Bell and get cut for walking off the field. However, the Patriots picked him up and started him. By then Matt had cut him, leaving him for Molly to pick up and actually start down the stretch.
142. Don – Brian Hartline WR MIA | Pos Rank: #79 | 798 points Hartline has gone from being the potential best receiver in Miami to being the fourth option (behind Wallace, Landry, Clay), breaking 80 yards receiving just once…in week 17 of the NFL season.
143. Eric – Roy Helu RB WAS | Pos Rank: #35 | 1370 points Helu is nothing but Alfred Morris’ handcuff, but managed to hit 100 fantasy points seven times, despite missing three games.
144. Rich B – Dwayne Bowe WR KC | Pos Rank: #62 | 1138 points His days of hitting 1,000 yards for the season are over. Sad, considering he never produced 1,200 yards in his nine-year career.
ROUND THIRTEEN
145. Rich B – DeAndre Hopkins WR HOU | Pos Rank: #11 | 2412 points Despite not having a solid quarterback, Hopkins looked like a solid WR1, breaking 180 points seven times, including a 596-point effort to help Burrier become the first person to beat a 2,000-point scorer (vs. Bob). He remains a solid keeper for 2015, but will need to find a QB if he is to take the next step.
146. Eric – Stephen Gostkowski K NE | Pos Rank: #3 | 1460 points Is it me or does it always seem like a Vozzola is the first person to take a place kicker first each year? The last time a non-Vozzola was the first person to draft a kicker first was Colby in 2010.
147. Don – Antonio Gates TE SD | Pro Rank: #5 | 1688 points His days were supposed to be over, as a young stud would pass him by as Philip Rivers’ favorite tight end. Problem is, someone forgot to tell Gates, who finished fifth among all TE’s.
148. Matt – Jeremy Maclin WR PHI (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #5 | 2716 points Coming off an ACL injury, Matt redshirted Maclin and he had a pretty solid year, although Matt felt that Dez Bryant was the way to go and traded Maclin away for the Cowboys receiver. Now I get to keep him.
149. Jeff – Jordan Todman RB JAC | Pos Rank: #92 | 336 points Yes, the Jaguars signed Toby Gerhart and named him the starter, but little had faith that he would really dominate, so clearly taking other Jacksonville backs was a smart move. Sadly for Jeff, Todman was not the right one to take.
150. Bob – Danny Woodhead RB SD (Keeper) | Pos Rank: N/A | 144 points For a hot minute, this late-round keeper looked like a steal when Ryan Mathews went down in week two. The problem was, Woodhead only lasted two carries in game three before he went out for the year.
151. Molly – Martellus Bennett TE CHI | Pos Rank: #4 | 1794 points Despite the Bears troubles, especially Jay Cutler’s personal struggles, the individual players actually did okay. Matt Forte earned All-Robio, Brandon Marshall was solid and Bennett had his best year to date, catching 90 balls for over 900 yards. Is he the new Jason Witten? Meaning, he’s not Gronk or Graham, but he’s the next best thing. Maybe.
152. Colby – Browns DST CLE | Pos Rank: #15 | 1322 points The Browns DST put up a couple of nice 200+ games towards the end of the season, but by then they were longed removed from Colby’s roster.
153. Rob M – Chris Ivory RB NYJ | Pos Rank: #17 | 1800 points Despite the fact Chris Johnson showed up and got plenty of touches, Ivory remained the top dog in New York. However, despite finishing as a RB2 when the season was all said and done, he was just not consistent enough to start. He had the same amount of 200+ games (4) as games below 90 (4).
154. Robio – Marqise Lee WR JAC | Pos Rank: #91 | 606 points He had 37 catches for 422 yards and just one score. While there were plenty of rookie wide receiver breakouts, Lee was not one of them (technically this was his second year, but he was out all of 2013).
155. Griff – Delanie Walker TE TEN | Pro Rank: #6 | 1586 points Griff Walker produced a handful of solid games, including a pair of 300+ efforts, but with Jimmy Graham on Griff’s roster, he only got playing time when Graham went down (which was briefly).
156. Rich C – Zac Stacy RB STL (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #55 | 838 points Expected to be one of the reasons why Calderon could repeat. Instead, Stacy proved to be one of the reasons why Rich struggled. He was eventually benched, but at least Rich got Tre Mason to replace Stacy. Without Mason, things could have gotten ugly.
ROUND FOURTEEN
157. Rich C – Ravens DST BAL | Pos Rank: #13 | 1361 points The Ravens DST had good games here and there, but if the match up was bad, they were bad. Ray Lewis’ stabbing victims would be rolling in their graves. Calderon cut them in weeks two and four, before they finished the season with Jeff.
158. Griff – Odell Beckham WR NYG | Pos Rank: #23 | 1750 points Holy fuck this kid is good. In what proved to be the best keeper pick moving forward, after missing four games due to a hamstring injury, the Giants rookie exploded onto the scene for 91 receptions, 1,305 yards and 12 scores. If he played a full season, his stats would be…121 catches, 1,740 yards and 16 touchdowns. If you adjust it to inflation (meaning -2 for each reception like we use to do), a full season of Beckham would have broken Randy Moss 2007 receiving record of 261 fantasy points per game.
159. Robio – Mike James RB TB | Pro Rank: N/A | 66 points Griff gets arguable the best receiver in the game right now with pick 158. With 159 I get a guy who had a total of 32 yards for the season. This explains a lot.
160. Rob M – Justin Tucker K BAL | Pos Rank: #4 | 1330 points The second kicker taken in the draft finished fourth in the league. Good news for Griff, the team that Tucker finished the season with.
161. Colby – Alshon Jeffery WR CHI (Keeper) Pos Rank: #13 | 2194 points Normally finished 13th isn’t bad for a wide receiver. However, this season never felt like one to celebrate for Jeffery. The reality was, while he did catch more than 80 balls for the second straight year and he actually had three more touchdowns, he produced 300 less yards than last year. That’s 600 fantasy points.
162. Molly – Harry Douglas WR ATL | Pos Rank: #82 | 758 points It’s not often someone drafts a handcuff for a wide receiver, in this case Julio Jones. Because backup receivers actually play a lot, if they haven’t broken out, things aren’t going to change to much if they are suddenly thrown into the starting spot. However, Douglas proved to be the exception last year. Luckily for Molly, she never really needed Douglas too much, as Julio stayed healthy.
163. Bob – Saints DST NO | Pos Rank: #32 | 630 points See, not everything Bob touched turned to gold. The Saints were the worst defense in football in 2014.
164. Jeff – Cecil Shorts WR JAC | Pos Rank: #75 | 862 points He missed three of his first five games of the year and by the time he was back, the young gun receivers had established themselves into the Jaguars lineup.
165. Matt – James Starks RB GB | Pos Rank: #65 | 652 points Eddie Lacy’s handcuff was never needed, but smart pick none-the-less.
166. Don – Adam Vinatieri K IND | Pos Rank: #1 | 1490 points Vinatieri is a lot like Don; he’s old and he can’t kick 50-yard field goals (anymore). Yet, that didn’t stop him from finishing first among all kickers…the last time he earned an All-Robio was 2004, the longest gaps between first-team awards by any player.
167. Eric – Johnny Manziel QB CLE | Pro Rank: #48 | 128 points Johnny Football’s official rookie stat line: two starts, 51.4% completion percentage, 175 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions, one season-ending injury and one kickass party that helped to get teammate Josh Gordon suspended.
168. Rich B – Brandon LaFell WR NE (Keeper) | Pos Rank: #19 | 1844 points After being shutout in weeks one and two and barely producing much in week three, LaFell exploded for 298 fantasy points in week four. He ended up becoming a pretty damn good receiver in Tom Brady’s offense, finishing off his best season as a pro with 74 catches and 953 yards. Between him and Hopkins, Rich should be able to get a decent WR2 as a late-round keeper in 2015.
ROUND FIFTEEN
169. Rich B – Phil Dawson K SF | Pos Rank: #15 | 1080 points Third kicker taken, finished 15th. Dawson lasted on Burrier’s squad until week eight, where he filled in for Matt for one week. He finished the season with Calderon.
170. Eric – James White RB NE | Pos Rank: N/A | 106 points Using an early draft pick on a Patriots running back is a waste of a pick. Using a 15th round pick on a rookie Patriots back isn’t a bad idea. Too bad it didn’t pan out. White never did anything, producing 38 rushing yards on the season.
171. Don – Steelers DST PIT | Pro Rank: #24 | 1071 points The Steelers DST is bad, old and ended up not very healthy. They broke 200 just once all season (against Jacksonville), yet started for Don way too often.
172. Matt – Matt Bryant K ATL | Pos Rank: #6 | 1280 points He made 15 field goals of 40 yards or more, which is pretty damn good, although 29 field goals overall isn’t great. Matt switched kickers in week nine and Bryant wrapped up 2014 on my squad.
173. Jeff – Dan Bailey K DAL | Pos Rank: #8 | 1200 points One of the rare occasions where a kicker actually starts and finishes a season with one team. Bailey had a solid year kicking (missing just four, hitting 14 field goals of more than 40 yards), but the Cowboys were just too successful at scoring touchdowns, as he hit just 25 total field goals all season.
174. Bob – Nick Novak K SD | Pos Rank: #11 | 1130 points He helped lead Bob to first place until week ten when he was cut. The following week he landed with Masterson. Poor guy, as Josh Scobee ends up with the championship belt.
175. Molly – Mason Crosby K GB | Pos Rank: #9 | 1180 points After rebounding in 2013 (making 33 of 37 field goals), Crosby missed six in 2014. The problem was, 67% of his field goals made were under 40 yards.
176. Colby – Steven Hauschka K SEA | Pos Rank: #5 | 1300 points He was cut in week four (thanks to a bye-week) and picked back up by Colby. He hit a solid 31 field goals (good), but most of them were of the shorter kind; 20 of 31 were 39 yards or less (bad).
177. Rob M – Kenny Britt WR STL | Pos Rank: #57 | 1188 points The days of hoping Kenny Britt will be a great wide receiver are probably over. He’s never caught more than 50 balls in one season and he’s never approached 800 yards. This season was no different.
178. Robio – Robbie Gould K CHI | Pos Rank: #32 | 530 points He was just nine of 12 through nine games this season, yet I didn’t release him until week nine. No wonder my team sucked so much.
179. Griff – Shayne Graham K NO | Pro Rank: #42 | 1010 points He never played a game with Griff, cut before week one. He bounced around from Calderon to Bob before ending the season as a free agent.
180. Rich C – Nick Folk K NYJ | Pos Rank: #21 | 910 points The last pick in the draft in week one hit two field goals and one extra point, scoring 110 fantasy points. Rich cut him before week two and Folk was never picked up again this season.
