With the season over, it’s time to look back and see who joined the record book in 2013. Obviously, all records can be found on the RECORD BOOK page.
POINTS FOR
Matt Neatock scored 2,207 points in a week nine victory over Griff. That was the 7th most points ever scored in a game. Matt now has two of the top seven scores of all-time.
Rich Calderon scored 2,040 back in week five against Colby. That was the 23rd most points ever scored in a game.
Rob Masterson likes to deliver his 2,000-point games in the quarters and only against Molly. This time around, he scored 2,031 in a quarterfinals win against Molly, the 26th best score ever.
BIGGEST ASS KICKINGS
When Matt Neatock scored 2,207 points he did it against Griff who managed to only deliver 873 points. The 1,334-point difference is the 4th largest margin of victory in league history.
Eric Vozzola didn’t do much this season, but he did crush Rob Masterson, 2,228 – 932. The 1,296 point difference was the 6th largest margin of victory.
TIGHTEST GAMES
In week two, Don Vozzola handed Jeff a 1,426 – 1,419 defeat. The 7-point margin was the 11th closest game in league history.
HIGHEST COMBINED SCORE
Griff Coomer and Colby Hall faced off in the quarterfinals. Griff won, but both teams showed up. The two combined to score 3,566 points (2,067 – 1,499). That’s the 17th most combined points scored in a game.
LONGEST LOSING STREAK
Between weeks two through eight, Eric Vozzola failed to deliver a win. The 7-game losing streak is tied for 7th longest. It was the fourth longest ever within one season. Eric also has the 4th longest losing streak with 8-straight back in 2011.
Richard Burrier ended the season riding a six-game losing streak, tied for 11th longest of all-time (and again, it’s an active streak).
MOST POINTS IN REGULAR SEASON
Robio Murray (that’s me) came up one point short of averaging 1,500 points per game. My 1,499 points per game is the 5th best in league history.
Rob Masterson has made scoring points his hobby lately. He averaged 1,494 points per game this year, just two years removed from averaging 1,530 points per game. Anyhow, this year’s points are the 7th most in league history.
MOST POINTS FULL SEASON (REGULAR AND PLAYOFFS)
While Rob Masterson failed to reach the title game, he still outscored everyone, scoring 22,572 points on the year. It’s the 11th most points ever scored in a full season and the most points ever scored by a team that failed to reach the finals.
Rich Calderon won the title and scored a solid 22,508 points this year. That’s the 13th most points ever scored and 8th most by a champion.
Griff Coomer scored 22,002 points this year. That’s the 18th most points scored in league history and the fourth time Griff has hit the 22,000 mark.
Robio Murray lead the league in scoring this year, but faltered in the post-season. Still, I scored 21,936 points, the 20th most points scored in league history.
LOWEST POINTS SCORED IN A SEASON
Rich Burrier finished last because he didn’t score, although he wasn’t tragically bad. He averaged 1,081 points per game this year, the 20th lowest point total.
MOST POINTS SCORED IN A DEFEAT
Griff Coomer scored 1,643 points against Jeff in week four, but it wasn’t enough. It was the 19th most points scored in a defeat.
Rob Masterson, whose name appears in this category seven times now, scored 1,626 points in a loss to Calderon in the final week of the season, the 23rd most points scored in a defeat.
Bob Castrone hit 1,619 points in a week nine loss to Robio Murray, the 24th most points scored in a defeat.
OPPONENTS POINTS PER GAME
Richard Burrier struggled this year and you can see why. His opponents scored a stunning 19,433, averaging 1,495 points per game…the most points per game ever scored by an opponent.
Rob Masterson nearly won the scoring title and he needed nearly every point. In fact, it’s pretty amazing he earned the 3-seed, despite the fact his opponents averaged 1,472 points per game, the second most points allowed in a season.
We have the top two opponents scored in 2013, why not add another? Bob Castrone made the playoffs despite his opponents averaging 1,456 points per game. So you have the three highest opponents points per game all happening this season.
And lets add a fourth with Jeff Greenblatt. His opponents averaged 1,362 points per game, the 21st most points scored by an opponent.
1,000-POINT STREAK
Rich Calderon may not have dominated the league with 1,500-point games, but between 2012-2013, he produced 25 straight 1,000-point games…the 3rd longest streak in league history.
Eric Vozzola failed to hit 1,000 in week six, ending a career high 21-straight 1,000-point games. That streak is tied for 7th longest.
Griff Coomer had a 18-game 1,000-point streak. It started back in 2011 and ended in week two of this season. That’s the 12th longest streak.
Rob Masterson also went 18-straight games, tied with Griff for 12th longest in league history.
1,250-POINT STREAK
Now this is impressive. Bob Castrone went a stunning 16 straight games scoring over 1,250 points, dating back to 2012, blowing away Matt’s former record of 12 straight.
Rob Masterson scored over 1,250 in 11 straight games (starting in 2012), the 3rd longest streak in league history.
Robio Murray scored over 1,250 points in nine straight games over the previous two seasons, tied for 6th longest.
Don Vozzola ended 2012 with four straight 1,250-point games, then started this season with two more, that’s six straight and that’s tied for 20th longest.
LONGEST STREAK WITHOUT WEEKLY LOW
In week two, Griff Coomer produced the week’s low score. That ended a 38-week streak dating back to 2010. That is the 9th longest streak in league history.
Eric Vozzola got the weekly low score in week four, ending his 30-week streak, the 18th longest.
Despite all his failings, Rich Burrier didn’t earn a weekly low score until week eight. When he did, he ended a 25-week streak that dated back to 2011.
LONGEST STREAK WITHOUT A WEEKLY LOW
Out of nowhere, Don Vozzola delivered a weekly high score in week eight. It was his first since 2009, ending a 56-week streak, three shy of Griff’s all-time record. Instead, Don will have to settle for 3rd longest streak.
In week nine, Matt Neatock delivered over 2,000 points and the weekly high score. That ended a 33-week dry spell, tied for 11th longest streak.
LEAGUE POINTS
This season the 12-league members combined to score 208,270 points, averaging a solid 1,335 points per game. It’s the second most points scored in league history, about 870 points behind 2011’s 209,130 points scored.
