2009 Complete, Full Rounds 1-15 F-ing Mock Draft. Seriously, all 15 rounds.
ROUND ONE
1. MATT – Brian Westbrook (RB PHI) Does anyone see Neatock passing up his hometown star running back? Let’s see a show of hands…yeah, I didn’t think so either. Sure Brian’s got some health issues, but a Peterson/Westbrook running back duo from start to finish might be too much to pass up. He could trade down too I guess. 2. ROB M – Larry Fitzgerald (WR ARI) Here’s the deal…Rob has Pierre Thomas and McFadden. They could both end up being top-ten backs, but they could also both flop. Thomas could just be a seven-game wonder from last season and McFadden surely hasn’t proven he can stay healthy. If Rob passes on a RB here, who knows who’s going to be available later. Rob’s a gambler though, so he’ll pass on a RB, look for one later, grab the best WR in the league, and hope one of his two keepers pans out. 3. GRIFF – Frank Gore (RB SF) Back-to-back top-ten seasons makes Gore a solid grab, even if his 2008 was a drop off from his 2007. While a Frank Gore/Ryan Grant combo won’t strike fear in the hearts of Griff’s opponents, it could be a solid foundation if Grant pans out. 4. RICH B – Marion Barber (RB DAL) After keeping the bruiser from Dallas the past three years in the 9th round, Burrier finally has to finally pay a price to get him. He will be sharing the ball in Dallas, but he’ll still get most of the touches and the goal line carries. For Rich to rejoin the playoff party, a Turner/Barber combo is a good start. 5. ERIC – Steven Jackson (RB STL) Despite last year’s struggles, Jackson is still a young stud. If the Rams can fix up their O-line issues, beware. 6. JEFF – Brandon Jacobs (RB NYG) Jeff passes up on the aging Tomlinson and grabs hometown hero, Brandon Jacobs. The good news is Ward is gone, so Jacobs is just sharing carries with Bradshaw. The bad news…actually, there isn’t any bad news. 7. BOB – LaDain Tomlinson (RB SD) While his days as the best back are long gone, it’s hard to ignore the win totals of all the teams he’s been on in this league over the last six years. If he can stay healthy (which is a possibility since it was only a bad toe last year), he probably has one more good year in him. 8. RICH C – Andre Johnson (WR HOU) With the elite backs drying up quickly, the back half of the first-round is decision time. Do you reach here with a Ronnie Brown or Kevin Smith, or do you hope they’re still there in the second, allowing you to grab a top-flight receiver? If any of the above backs falls to Rich, he takes one. In my mock, they don’t, so Calderon lands 10-catch per game, Johnson. 9. COLBY – Randy Moss (WR NE) It’s a tough call for Colby. The elite backs are gone and the top-flight receivers are already starting to go. What to do? It’s simple really….Colby needs everything and the rules of fantasy football drafting (take a RB, RB, WR, WR, QB) quickly go out the window. Grab the man with the most possible points. Moss should be fine with Brady back. 10. MOLLY – Clinton Portis (RB WAS) K He’s no longer elite. He won’t make the ‘All-Robio’ team. He’ll struggle to stay healthy for a full season. But this late in the first-round, he’s still a decent keeper. However, Molly could simply risk it and just draft him if he falls this far. 11. ROBIO – Reggie Wayne (WR IND) I need a No 1 receiver and a No 2 running back. Brown and Smith are appealing, but how much better are they than the guys I can get in round three or four? I’ll grab a top-five WR instead. I told you this draft will be like any other. 12. DON – Maurice Jones-Drew (RB JAX) K With Taylor gone to New England, Jones-Drew is an amazing keeper. The kind that can lead to championship repeats.
ROUND TWO
13. DON – Ronnie Brown (RB MIA) And just like that, his backfield is complete. Brown is a year and a half removed from the ACL injury. If you want to see what kind of stats you can expect, just look at Edgerrin James. A year after the injury, 900+ yards and a handful of touchdowns (Brown had 900+ yards and 10 TD’s). In year two, James had nearly 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns. 14. ROBIO – Calvin Johnson (WR DET) I like Kevin Smith. I do. He’d be a decent pick. Marshawn Lynch wouldn’t be too bad either. Yet, I’m going to roll the dice, take a hit on 16 and grab another elite receiver. Sure Johnson has to probably deal with a rookie QB, but that didn’t hurt his stats last year. 15. MOLLY – Steve Smith (WR CAR) Set a running back (even before the draft) with Portis and Forte, it’s time to go elite hands. Smith is small, but solid. 16. COLBY – Peyton Manning (QB IND) Again, when you’re starting from near-scratch. fuck the rules. You draft stats, no matter what the position. Manning is getting older, but he’s still Da Man. 17. RICH C – Kevin Smith (RB DET) After last year’s Johnson/Lewis fiasco, Calderon needs to get some young legs on board. 18. BOB – Marques Colston (WR NO) He’s got his backs, it’s time to get a wing man for Boldin. 19. JEFF – Dwayne Bowe (WR KC) He was good last year, so it’s safe to assume he’ll be better with Matt Cassell, right? 20. ERIC – Marshawn Lynch (RB BUF) His suspended for three games. However, if Eric can survive those three weeks unharmed, he gets a first-round quality back late in the second round. 21. RICH B – Michael Turner (RB ATL) K A beautiful flower that arose from a dirt of a season by Burrier. 22. GRIFF – Terrell Owens (WR BUF) He’s a little bitch, but just ask Don about him. He’s the only player in the league who played on two Robioland championship teams over the last three years. 23. ROB M – Philip Rivers (QB SD) It’s simple, Rob has two running backs and two receivers. It’s way too early for a tight end. The top arms are already nearly off the board. If he wants one, he’ll need to get one in the next two picks. 24. MATT – Adrian Peterson (RB MIN) K One more year with Purple Jesus? Can he win a second title?
ROUND THREE
25. MATT – TJ Housh… (WR SEA) He needs a QB, a TE and a No 1 receiver. Housh has traded address, heading out West to receiver-starved Seattle. 26. ROB M – James Stewart (RB CAR) He gambled and it paid off. Sure he could take a top-end tight end; Gonzalez, Gates, but with Stewart, McFadden and Thomas, Rob should get two solid backs out of that trio, with a decent backup from one of them. 27. GRIFF – Larry Johnson (RB KC) it seems like it was years ago that Larry Johnson was leading Griff to the title, ready to take him to the dynasty level. That was four seasons ago. Can Coomer and L.J. recapture that magic? 28 RICH B – Vincent Jackson (WR SD) He’s not a sexy pick, but a smart one. He’s the best hands of all the receivers in San Diego. His catches have gone up every year (3, 27, 41, 59). That’s about a 19-catch improvement per season. That can only mean that Vincent will catch 78 balls this year. 29. ERIC – Santonio Holmes (WR PIT) In the Superbowl, Holmes showed what he can do. It’s season three; ready to blow up? 30. JEFF – Tom Brady (QB NE) K So he won’t throw for 50 touchdowns, but if Brady comes in with a chip on his shoulder, 30 touchdowns and 3,800 yards isn’t out of the question. Remember, an ACL tear is not as bad for QB, as it is for a RB. 31 BOB – Anquan Boldin (WR ARI) K He couldn’t bitch his way out of the desert, which is a good thing for fantasy owners. With Warner throwing the ball, Boldin is a mid-range No 1 receiver. 32. RICH C – Drew Brees (QB NO) K The 2008 MVP in Robioland is hungry for a title. 33. COLBY – Joseph Addai (RB IND) How will sharing the ball with a rookie effect Addai? Personally, if he’s healthy, he’ll have a good year. 34. MOLLY – Roy E. Williams (WR DAL) Owens is gone. It’s time. 35. ROBIO – Tony Gonzalez (TE ATL) You know me, I love my elite tight ends. With both Ryan and Gonzalez, I’m suddenly a Falcons fan. 36. DON – Chad Ochocinco (WR CIN) It’s a risk, but at this point, he’s the best on the board. Don could go Gates, but last year Don proved you don’t need to waste a top pick on a TE to win a championship.
ROUND FOUR
37. DON – Donovan McNabb (QB PHI) The Eagles got more weapons in the draft (plus they added Peters), so we have to assume McNabb will be even better. This gives Done three starters back from last year’s squad. 38. ROBIO – Willie Parker (RB PIT) I passed on Brown, Lynch and Smith…it’s time for the second wave of backs to get started. I’ll take Fast Willie from Pittsburgh. 39. MOLLY – Reggie Bush (RB NO) Too bad, special team stats will remain with the Defenses. 40. COLBY – Thomas Jones (RB NYJ) Hard to believe he was so good last year. The risk is, will the Jets get sick of his whining? 41. RICH C – Antonio Gates (TE SD) Calderon creams himself over elite tight ends. Literally creams himself. 42. BOB – Kurt Warner (QB ARI) He’s old and a Christian, two of Bob’s favorite things, but with his weapons, he’s still a top arm, unless he’s on the East Coast of course, against New England, in the snow, during out championship game…sorry, sorry. Just bitter. 43. JEFF – Eddie Royals (WR DEN) Any player on the Broncos is going to be a risky pick. They got a new coach and a new quarterback. At least with Royals, you know he won’t get arrested, which you can’t say the same with Brandon Marshall. 44. ERIC – Knowshon Moreno (RB DEN) Denver didn’t waste a first-round pick to bench this guy. However, Eric could pass up on the rookie. He was burned bad by a Broncos back last season; Selvin “2,000 yards” Young. 45. RICH B – Braylon Edwards (WR CLE) Was last year a fluke? Or was 2007, when he finished 3rd among receivers, the fluke season? Burrier would like to know. 46. GRIFF – Matt Schaub (QB HOU) If only he could stay healthy, because there are a lot of weapons in Houston and oh so much potential. 47. ROB M – D. McFadden (RB OAK) K Healthy. Healthy. Healthy. For once, will someone just stay healthy for Rob? 48. MATT – Donald Brown (RB IND) Why not? Backup rookies, ruled football in 2008 (Stewart, Johnson). If Addai falters, this kid is good.
ROUND FIVE
49 MATT – Greg Olsen (TE CHI) It’s tight end time, because there won’t be any good ones around the next time Matt picks. It’s simple, you got Olsen, the up-and-coming star or Winslow, a star now, but with injury issues. Matt goes up-and-coming. 50. ROB M – Kellen Winslow (TE TB) Despite all the concerns; injuries, new team, lack of quarterback…is there any doubt Winslow won’t be the best pair of hands on Tampa’s offense? 51. GRIFF – Roddy White (WR ATL) K An ‘All-Robio’ player in the Fifth Round. Good get. 52. RICH B – Matt Cassell (QB KC) Here’s the thinking…I don’t think he’s elite, but I love, absolutely love the Chiefs young receiving core. They’re all big, strong guys, who just need a reliable QB. Don’t forget, Thigpen was a decent fantasy QB in the last month of the 2008 season. 53. ERIC – Tony Romo (QB DAL) K His injury last season was a fluke injury, so I don’t think he’s a risk. With Owens gone, I have to believe Romo and the offense will be better. In reality, he needs to stop throwing so many damn interceptions, costing Eric 45 points each time. 54. JEFF – Darren Sproles (RB SD) It’s probably a reach to take Sproles this early, but with LT’s age, Jeff can’t wait to steal Bob’s LT insurance. Just ask 2005 Rob Masterson about that. 55. BOB – Chris Cooley (TE WAS) The top tight ends are gone, but Cooley has been known to put up some solid stats, especially around the red zone. 56. RICH C – DeSean Jackson (WR PHI) He was a solid rookie and with the addition of Maclin, there should be more room to run. Jackson has ‘sleeper’ written all over him. 57. COLBY – Benard Berrian (WR MIN) The Vikings still don’t have a quarterback, so Berrian will remain a low-end No 2 WR, who will put up No 1 type numbers from time to time. 58. MOLLY – Jay Cutler (QB CHI) Could Cutler really fall this far? Doubt it; reputation rules in fantasy football. However, the question needs to be asked; was he a product of the system or is he really that good? The Bears aren’t the Broncos, buddy. 59. ROBIO – D. Williams (RB CAR) K Thanks Bob, thank you very much. As much as I’m sure Castrone is completely happy with his ’09 keepers, he has to hit himself when he realizes he could have kept both Johnson and Williams this year. His only mistake in ’08 fell into my lap; Williams was the best back in 2008 and while I don’t foresee him matching last year’s results, he is still a No 1 back. 60. DON – Vikings (DST MIN) Why do I have Don taking the Vikings defense in the fifth round? Because that’s what Don does. He has taken a defense in the fifth round five times in eight season.
ROUND SIX
61. DON – Cedric Benson (RB CIN) While Benson comes with plenty of baggage (as all former Longhorns running backs do), it’s rare to see a clear No 1 back last this long. The Bengals were awful last year, but they should improve in 2009. 62. ROBIO – Chris Wells (RB ARI) Here is the annual Robio Murray, hoping to find gold in a rookie running back. So far, it hasn’t quite worked out. Think back: 2004 Kevin Jones (traded), 2005 Arrington (Cut), 2006 Mike Bell (Cut), 2007 LenDale White (Benched), 2008 Kevin Smith (Benched). 63. MOLLY – Matt Forte (RB CHI) K Seriously, did any other player have a quieter solid season? Forte became only the second player to earn both ‘Rookie of the Year’ and ‘All-Robio’ in the same year. The other person? Edgerrin James in 1999. 64. COLBY – Steelers (DST PIT) Defense was the only consistent thing for the Pounders last year. 65. RICH C – LenDale White (RB TEN) He’s not worth a start, but could be a good bye-week replacement. However, beware…he can have 12 carrier for 70 yards and two touchdowns one week, followed by 5 carries for 10 yards and no touchdowns the next week. 66. BOB – Ravens (DST BAL) They were one of the best last year despite suffering a ton of injuries, so can we assume the same basic group will be better when healthy? Of course Rex Ryan is gone, so should we assume they will go down? Of course the same question was asked when Marv Lewis left. 67. JEFF – Ernest Graham (RB TB) K He should still start, but he’ll share the rock with Ward. However, he will get the goal line touches. If Brandon Jacobs could still be a star in this type of system, maybe Graham can too. 68. ERIC – Anthony Gonzalez (WR IND) Bye-bye Harrison, hello Gonzalez. Is he ready to be a legit No 2 receiver finally? 69. RICH B – Tim Hightower (RB ARI) The drafting of Beanie Wells hurts Hightowers’ value. He’s no longer worth a start in Robioland, but he still have potential to be the starter in Arizona. 70. GRIFF – Ryan Grant (RB GB) K Last year Grant got his money and basically turned into a bust. Personally, I don’t think he’s a great keeper, but he’s still the starter in Green Bay…for now. 71. ROB M – Pierre Thomas (RB NO) Where the hell did he come from? With McAllister gone and Bush proving once again he can’t handle the load, Thomas is the new star in a powerful Saints offense. 72. MATT – Lee Evans (WR BUF) With Owens playing opposite of him, your guess is as good as mine on what will happen to Evans.
ROUND SEVEN
73. MATT – Patriots (DST NE) He could grab the Eagles Defense, but how many homer picks can one guy make. He won’t take the Giants because he doesn’t like taking NFC players/teams. The Patriots are the next best thing and they never face the Eagles. 74. ROB M – LeSean McCoy (RB PHI) With Westbrook’s health issues, McCoy is a decent keeper option, who will get some playing time this year. 75. GRIFF – Donnie Avery (WE STL) With Holt gone from St. Louis, Avery is now the man for the Rams. 76. RICH B – Giants (DST NY) They were great last year and should be better with the return of injured players. 77. ERIC – Lance Moore (WR NO) K If the old-school Colts could have three fantasy worthy receivers, then why can’t the Saints do the same thing? 78. JEFF – Eagles (DST PHI) They don’t dominate, but they are consistent. Jeff should be careful. The Eagles should be played only when the opponent is just right. 79. BOB – Chris Johnson (RB TEN) K Steal. A first-round pick in the seventh. Too bad LenDale gets the goal line carries. 80. RICH C – Jets (DST NY) Rex Ryan takes over. 81. COLBY – John Carlson (TE SEA) He was the starting tight end on Don’s 2008 championship team. 82. MOLLY – Steve Breaston (WR ARI) The Cardinals are the only team in the league that have three receivers who could start on someone’ team in 2009. 83. ROBIO – Antonio Bryant (WR TB) K He had an amazing year last year and was a top-five WR in the back half of 2008. However, that’s his career. That’s it. Still, he’s only 28 years old and he could be a top-ten guy for a few years. Having said that, I still drafted two elite receivers, making Bryant a great bench guy/third receiver option. 84. DON – Visanthe Shiancoe (TE MIN) I’m going to assume Don will hold off on drafting a kicker (at least for a couple rounds longer). If you wait for a TE, this is what you get. Of course, it’s been five years since he’s waited this long for a tight end, usually using an early pick for Todd Heap.
ROUND EIGHT
85. DON – Hines Ward (WR PIT) I keep predicting his demise, yet he keeps producing. If Don’s draft works out though, he’ll never have to play Ward, except in bye weeks. 86. ROBIO – Julius Jones (RB SEA) He’s still starting in Seattle, who should be better with the return of Hasselback, but he’s a backup at best. 87. MOLLY – Redskins (DST WAS) Not exciting, not sexy, but productive. 88. COLBY – Willis McGahee (RB BAL) We know the risks; he gets hurt, he shares too many carries, but he’s still a solid backup, as long as you’re not relying on him to start week in and week out. 89. RICH C – J. Cotchery (WR NYJ) No quarterback is going to hurt his stats. He’s a low-end No 2 WR and that’s being nice. 90. BOB – Ray Rice (RB BAL) It’s simple. McGahee can’t stay healthy, McClain is being moved to full back. Guess who’s next in line? 91. JEFF – Ahmad Bradshaw (RB NYG) Ward is gone and Bradshaw will now be the one splitting carries with Jacobs in New York, which makes him as valuable as Ward was last year. 92. ERIC – Dustin Keller (TE NYJ) He’s talented, but the numbers aren’t there yet. However, with the Jets quarterback situation, the tight end may be the most important receiver on their field. 93. RICH B – Kevin Boss (TE NO) The G-Men didn’t trade Shockey for nothing. Year three is usually a good one for tight ends. 94. GRIFF – Bears (DST CHI) They don’t dominate, but they can still produce. Of course I can say that about a lot of D’s right now. 95. ROB M – Santana Moss (WR WAS) He’s still the top option in D.C., but that’s not saying much. 96. MATT – Kyle Orton (QB DEN) He never put up fantasy numbers in Chicago, but he’ll have a lot more options in Denver.
ROUND NINE
97. MATT – Jeremy Maclin (WR PHI) Come on, if he lasts this long, there is no way Matt passes up Maclin. No way. By the way, would it be great if Matt proved his ultimate loyalty and love to his Eagles by drafting Westbrook in the first, McNabb in the third, DeSean in the 4th, McCoy in the fifth, the Eagles Defense in the sixth, Maclin in the 9th and Celek at tight end in the 10th? That would be awesome. 98. ROB M – R. Mendenhall (RB PIT) He ripped up his ACL last year in the first quarter of the first game he started. If healthy, he’ll be Parker’s backup. If all goes well for Masterson, Parker goes down and Mendenhall steps in. 99. GRIFF – Ted Ginn Jr. (WR MIA) He’s got one more year to prove his fantasy worth. 100. RICH B – Derrick Mason (WR BAL) He looked solid last year, but his age will scare people off. 101. ERIC – Titans (DST TEN) They lost a big piece in the middle, folks. 102. JEFF – Nate Washington (WR TEN) Can he step up and be a No 1 receiver in Tennessee? Doubt it, but worth a try. 103. BOB – Michael Crabtree (WR SF) Too much talent to fall this far, but if he can put up DeSean Jackson type rookie numbers, then good for Bob. 104. RICH C – Chester Taylor (RB MIN) He gets some touches, but never enough to justify a start. Here’s hoping Peterson tears an ACL. 105. COLBY – Felix Jones (RB DAL) K A love this kid. I really do. I thought he was better than McFadden in college. Let’s see if the Cowboys use him enough, because he could be a Chris Johnson type back. 106. MOLLY – Matt Stafford (RB DET) And the first rookie quarterback goes. I don’t really know how good he really is, but I do know the Lions have a ton of young talent surrounding this kid. Grab him, make him a practice player and enjoy his success in a year or two. 107 ROBIO – Shonn Greene (RB NYJ) I grabbed Beanie, so why not roll with Greene too. One of them will turn into a great keeper, right? 108 DON – Greg Jennings (WR GB) K While Don will certainly miss Owens, Jennings has always had more value simply because he gets him so freaking late.
ROUND TEN
109. DON – Stephen Gostkowski (PK NE) Okay, now Don takes the first kicker. Still too early in my books though. 110. ROBIO – Carson Palmer (QB CIN) I’m putting my faith in Matt Ryan, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get some insurance. 111. MOLLY – Kevin Walter (WR HOU) He has a tendency to disappear in games, but he has big-play potential. 112. COLBY – Devin Hester (WR CHI) With Cutler running the show, someone has to take a chance on him. 113. RICH C – Steve Slaton (RB HOU) K Steal. I was so taxed when Calderon grabbed him last season. I was planning on taking him eight picks later. My loss, Calderon’s gain. 114. BOB – Eli Manning (QB NYG) He’s a solid relief pitcher in case Warner shows his age. 115. JEFF – Matt Hasselback (QB SEA) He’s healthy and so are his receivers. He should bounce back. Should. 116. ERIC – Jamal Lewis (RB CLE) I can’t believe he’s A) still playing and B) still starting. 117. RICH B – L. Coles (WR NYJ) It seems so long ago he was stealing clothes at Dilliard’s with Peter Warrick at Florida State. 118. GRIFF – Jamaal Charles (RB KC) This might be the first time in league history where someone grabbed the backup of one of their backup running backs. 119. ROB M – Justin Fargas (RB OAK) If you have McFadden, you have to have Fargas (or Bush). 120. MATT – Aaron Rogers (QB GB) K Steal. Brett Favre who? Still can’t believe Matt tried to trade him to Bob last year.
ROUND ELEVEN
121. MATT – Maurice Morris (RB DET) He’s now backing up Kevin Smith in Detroit, and will steal some carries. 122. ROB M – B. Marshall (WR DEN) K It probably doesn’t help that he’s bitching right now, which won’t help him and Orton’s relationship on the field, but he’s still a low-end No 1 WR. 123. GRIFF – Joe Flacco (QB BAL) He was okay as a rookie, at least in fantasy-terms. Let’s see if he can improve those passing stats in season two. 124. RICH B – Fred Taylor (RB NE) Okay, here’s the thing…you have a ton of backs to choose from in New England and I wouldn’t be surprised if three get taken. Burrier’s a fan, so he goes first. 125. ERIC – Fred Jackson (RB BUF) Eric needs insurance for Lynch, but be careful, with Lynch’s three-game suspension, Jackson may not last to the 11th. 126. JEFF – Percy Harvin (WR MIN) In reality, you know Gator-lover Eric wanted Percy, but Jackson is more important now. I don’t see Harvin doing anything though and would be a decent practice player. 127. BOB – Torry Holt (WR JAX) Okay Neatock, now you can finally draft Torry Holt in the 12th round….at least you could, but Bob will take him instead in the 11th round. Holt’s stats dropped badly last year, but can he become at least a No 2-worthy WR in a new home? 128. RICH C – LeRoy McClain (RB BAL) It’s simply, McGahee can’t stay healthy, Ray Rice hasn’t proved he can carry any load. McClain was the best back in the Ravens backfield last year. Sure, he’s going to full back, but the Ravens will learn. 129. COLBY – Chris Chambers (WR SD) Consistency…you don’t want that with a high pick. In the 11th round, you’ll take it. 130. MOLLY – Sammy Morris (RB NE) And Patriots running back #2 goes down. Morris is un sexy, but he was the best one in 2008. 131. ROBIO – Hakeem Nicks (WR NYG) Boy, I’m loving my rookies. This is my third one late in this draft. 132. DON – Lawrence Maroney (RB NE) He’s been a bust his whole career, but he’s still young and still physically more talented than the other backs in New England.
ROUND TWELVE
133. DON – Deion Branch (WR SEA) You have so many receivers in Seattle; Branch, Burleson, Engram and now Housh. You pick who will be the best one. 134. ROBIO – Cowboys (DST DAL) Back-to-back years taking the Cowboys D late. Last year it didn’t pay off. Why would it this year? 135. MOLLY – Panthers (DST CAR) They won’t be a week-by-week starter, but a good fill in. 136 COLBY – Issac Bruce (WR SF) How will the addition of Crabtree effect his numbers? 137. RICH C – D. Henderson (WR NO) He’s now the third receiver, which makes him the fifth option in New Orleans, which still makes him better than many team’s third option. 138. BOB – Michael Bush (RB OAK) Maybe, just maybe the former Louisville Cardinals back can sneak ahead of McFadden and Fargas for playing time. He’s certainly been the healthiest. 139. JEFF – Steve Smith (WR NYG) Can he replace Toomer as the No 2 possession receiver? 140. ERIC – Ricky Williams (RB MIA) Could fall behind Pat White on the Miami debt chart. 141. RICH B – Jerious Norwood (RB ATL) He’s suppose to get more carries in 2009, but in reality, he’s just insurance. 142. GRIFF – Brian Robiskie (WR CLE) Rookie receivers, you know what to expect? 143. ROB M – Chargers (DST SD) They struggled last year, but could be due for a solid bounce back year. Plus, Masterson has always been good about finding sleeper D’s late. 144. MATT – Dolphins (DST MIA) Good to have two D’s. The Pats aren’t reliable for weekly stardom.
ROUND THIRTEEN
145. MATT – Wes Welker (WR NE) K One more year for Welker. He was the best WR with Brady out last year. 146. ROB M – Justin Gage (WE TEN) Welcome to the group, Rob…drafting Titans receivers, only to have them occupy your bench all season long. 147. GRIFF – Jason Witten (TE DAL) K He was on pace to a second straight ‘All-Robio’ season until he got hurt. 148. RICH B – Shaun Hill (QB SF) He’s got a couple new weapons and a full year without Mike Martz. He’s a sleeper. 149. ERIC – Vernon Davis (TE SF) He’s been a major bust so far and is one more bad year away from not being drafted in this league. 150. JEFF – Owen Daniels (TE HOU) K Quietly had a good year. In fact, he was sadly Dave’s best player in 2008. Let’s hope that changes for Jeff. 151. BOB – Derrick Ward (RB TB) K Would it surprise you if he’s not starting by mid-season? A good keeper. 152. RICH C – Brandon Jackson (RB GB) If any starting running back is at risk at losing his starting job, it’s Ryan Grant. That’s why it would be smart if Griff took Jackson, who probably would have taken over the starting spot last year, if he didn’t get hurt. 153. COLBY – C. Buckhalter (RB DEN) You try to figure out the Broncos backfield. They already have about three guys, then they bring in Buckhalter, Arrington and Jordan, then they draft a RB in the first round. 154. MOLLY – Dallas Clark (TE IND) K His numbers should stay solid with Harrison gone in Indy. 155. ROBIO – Mark Sanchez (QB NYJ) Jesus, how many rookies will I draft? 156. DON – Greg Jones (RB JAX) The big fella’ is the new backup for Jones-Drew.
ROUND FOURTEEN
157. DON – Heath Miller (TE PIT) No harm in having two decent tight end options. One will pan out, right? 158. ROBIO – Rob Bironas (PK TEN) I have Matt Ryan in the 15th, so I have to get a kicker now. 159. MOLLY – Mason Crosby (PK GB) Are we looking at an early kicker run? Nope. 160. COLBY – Patrick Crayton (WR DAL) He’s the clear No 2 in Dallas. 161. RICH C – Plaxico Burress (WR N/A) Someone has to take a chance on him. He could go to jail, but if he doesn’t, someone will pick him up. 162. BOB – Anthony Fasano (TE MIA) He improved in season two, but can he step up to elite in season three? 163. JEFF – Nate Burleson (WR SEA) He’s been a disappointment so far in Seattle. 164. ERIC – D. Heyward-Bey (WR OAK) He was a terrible pick in Oakland and word is, he looked lost in mini-camp, still someone has to take a flier on him. 165. RICH B – Jeremy Shockey (TE NO) Remember when he was good. Of course, Burrier could stick to tradition here and take Ben Watson. 166. GRIFF – Nick Folk (PK DAL) Dallas kicks lots of field goals. 167. ROB M – L. Robinson (WR ATL) Year one was a bust, let’s see if he can move into the No 2 slot in Atlanta. 168. MATT – Jordy Nelson (WR GB) He could become the No 2 option in Green Bay.
ROUND FIFTEEN
169 COLBY – Jason Elam (PK ATL) Now we have a kicker run…will Matt pass up on another Eagle? 170. ROB M – David Ackers (PK PHI) There goes another one one. 171. GRIFF – Tashard Choice (RB DAL) At best, he’s a practice player who could find himself on a new team in 2010. 172. RICH B – Ryan Longwell (PK MIN) Everyone loves kicking in a dome. 173. ERIC – Neal Rackers (PK ARI) A solid combo of a high flying offense that plays in a dome. 174. JEFF – Rob Gould (PK CHI) Cutler should improve Gould’s numbers. 175. BOB – Adam Vinatieri (PK IND) Adam is still productive. 176. RICH C – Shayne Graham (PK CIN) The Bengals offense should produce more in 2009. 177. COLBY – Nate Kaeding (PK SD) And the last kicker taken is…. 178. MOLLY – Chris Henry (WR CIN) He breaks the law, but he’ll become the No 2 guy in Cincy. 179. ROBIO – Matt Ryan (QB ATL) K Could I really have a No 1 QB in the 15th round for the next three years? 180 DON – Josh Freeman (QB TB) Freeman tries to become the next Matt Ryan.
