MVP – Drew Brees (Rich C): *He led the league in total points, which the top quarterback usually does, but since no running back dominated for the full season, Brees was an easy choice. He led Calderon to nine wins and a division title. * FIRST-TEAM ‘ALL-ROBIO’* *QB – Drew Brees (Rich C):* Warner gave him a run for his money, but he faded and Brees gives Calderon his first ‘All-Robio’ player. However, let me give you the greatest stat ever in fantasy sports. We’ve had 10 ‘All-Robio’ quarterbacks and all ten have been white guys. We’ve had ten quarterbacks who led their team to the championship; five of those quarterbacks were black (Aaron Brooks twice, Vick, Culpepper and now McNabb). *RB – DeAngelo Williams (Robio):* I don’t know for sure, but I believe this is the first time a player who was cut, became a first-team All-Robio player. DeAngleo was the #1 fantasy back and #1 reason for my second half turnaround. I have three players on this list, giving me a total of 15 for my career. *RB – Matt Forte (Molly):* Yep, Matt Forte. In reality, Michael Turner scored more points, but when I think about who should be an ‘All-Robio’ player, can I give an ‘All-Robio’ award to someone who didn’t even start have the games for his team? No back was more consistent for the whole season than Forte. He never scored less than 120 points, break 200 eight times in the regular season. For the record, Forte becomes the second rookie to make first team ‘All-Robio’. Edgerrin James did it in 1999. *WR – Larry Fitzgerald: *Again, it’s consistency. Boldin may have gotten the headlines, but in the end, no fantasy receiver scored more points than Fitzgerald. This is Eric’s 4th ‘All-Robio’ player, three have been receivers, two were Fitzgerald. * WR – Andre Johnson (Robio):* It took him about a month to get going, but after that there was no receiver better…except in the title game, where every receiver was better. Sorry, still bitter. This was my 4th ‘All-Robio’ wide receiver, but my first since 2001. *TE – Tony Gonzalez (Robio): *I couldn’t trade him away for a damn kicker in week five. He dominated the position afterwards, averaging 31ppg more than the second best tight end. This is the 6th time Tony Gonzalez has earned ‘All-Robio’ for tight ends, making him the career leader. Of those six, he was on my roster three times. *PK: Stephen Gostkowski (Don):* The only First Team ‘All-Robio’ on the championship team. He came up big in the post-season, averaging nearly 130ppg. This is Don’s 4th ‘All-Robio’ player, his second kicker. *DST: Steelers Defense (Colby): *They had two bad games all year and when I say bad, I mean 100 or below, which isn’t really that bad at all. This is the second time the Steelers DST has been an ‘All-Robio’ player. Also, despite only being in the league for six years, Colby (and Jeff) have the 4th most ‘All-Robio’ players with six. This is the second time he has earned one with the Steelers Defense. *SECOND TEAM ‘ALL-ROBIO’ * *QB – Jay Cutler (Molly):* He failed to break 200 only twice all season long. *RB – Thomas Jones (Robio):* After being traded to Robio (where he produced only one 200-pt game out of four), Jones would break 200 in seven of the last eight regular season games. *RB – Michael Turner (Rich B):* I can’t make him first team because of his time on the bench, but I can give him second team. * WR – Calvin Johnson (Rich C):* Made all the more amazing by the simple fact he was on the Lions. *WR – Steve Smith (Eric): *It came down to Boldin and Smith. Both missed two games, but we’re actually one and two in scoring average among receivers. Smith finished first. *TE – Jason Witten (Griff): *He was the clear leader until he broke a rib. Yeah, that will do it. He barely held off Dallas Clark for second-team. *PK – Rob Bironas (Robio):* Six, count ’em, six first-team or second-team ‘All-Robio’ players on my team. Now I’m just getting really bitter. *DST – Ravens Defense (Robio):* Speaking of my six first-team or second-team All-Robio players; of the six, I only drafted two of them. I picked up three and traded for one. * JUST MISSED THE CUT (IN ORDER):* *QB -* Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner and Philip Rivers *RB -* Adrian Peterson, Steve Slaton and Chris Johnson. *WR -* Anquan Boldin, Roddy White, Greg Jennings *TE -* Dallas Clark, Antonio Gates, Owen Daniels *PK -* Jason Elam, Ryan Longwell, Kris Brown *DST -* Titans DST, Eagles DST, Giants DST *’ALL BUST’ TEAM* *QB – Tom Brady (David):* Yeah he got hurt, but come on, he played one quarter of football. Carson Palmer is a close second. *RB – Laurence Maroney (Molly): *Man, talk about a bust. He just can’t stay healthy. *RB – Rudi Johnson (Don):* For the second time in three years, Don loses a RB after the draft and it actually seems to help him. *WR – Chad Johnson (Matt):* 540 yards and four touchdowns. Not what you want out of your first-round pick. *WR – Braylon Edwards (Rob M):* Masterson had two great keepers in Addai and Edwards, both coming off top-five years, who both faltered in the end. Addai was hurt, what was Edwards excuse? 872 yards and three touchdowns. *TE – Jeremy Shockey (Rich B):* The third tight end taken finished 25th. *PK – Nick Folk (Griff):* If you’re going to take a kicker in the 11th round, don’t cut him. *DST – Chargers DST (Molly/Don):* Top defense taken, they finished last among defenses on a team’s roster; right behind the Browns DST. * BEST AND WORST DRAFT PICKS (ROUND-BY-ROUND):* *ROUND ONE* *Best: Maurice Jones-Drew (Don):* Portis was the top dog all season long, but while he crumbled down the stretch, Jones-Drew only got stronger. *Worst: Julius Jones (David): *He had an amazing three weeks to start the season and followed it up with the worst non-injury ten weeks ever. *ROUND TWO * *Best: Andre Johnson (Robio):* Michael Turner was a great pick, but again, he sat on Rich’s bench. Johnson help lead me in scoring, starting every game. *Worst: Laurence Maroney (Molly):* We can just start calling him Snap, Crackle and Pop. *ROUND THREE* *Best: Anquan Boldin (Bob): *You could easily argue Thomas Jones and Drew Brees, but I try not to reward keepers over picks and although I don’t punish trades, I do try to reward picks that actually helped out the team who drafted them. Boldin was a star for a solid Bob team. *Worst: Rudi Johnson (Don):* I’m still shocked he passed on Ronnie Brown, who would have been a sweet keeper here in 2009. *ROUND FOUR * *Best: Steve Smith (Eric):* This was a tough one between Smith, Clavin Johnson and Tony Gonzalez. Calvin got more total points because of Smith’s two-game suspension, but Smith was the top scoring receiver based on average. *Worst: Carson Palmer (Matt): *The one time Matt should have taken the homer pick and not passed on McNabb. However, Aaron Rogers soften the blow a bit. * ROUND FIVE Best: DeAngelo Williams (Bob):* Despite the fact Bob cut him, I can’t overlook the top fantasy back taken in the fifth round. Roddy White is a close second though. *Worst: Marvin Harrison (Rich C): *Career over. However, it was a bit ironic to see him in Don’s lineup when Vozzola knocked out Calderon in the first round. *ROUND SIX Best: Matt Forte (Molly):* Clearly the best, no competition. One of the best picks in the draft. *Worst: Selvin Young (Eric): *A few deserving players here; Edgerrin James got benched for a rookie, Tood Heap was awful again, Rice was third string and Mendenhall played a quarter. but only Selvin Young was someone’s opening day starter. Young predicted 2,000 yards. Ha ha ha ha. He finished with 303. *ROUND SEVEN* *Best: Chris Johnson (Bob):* The Steelers were a solid pick by Colby at the top of the round and I know Bob had his heart set on Gostkowski here, but since Don took him, Bob got stuck with a top-five rookie running back for the next two years. *Worst: Stephen Gostkowski (Don):* Sorry, I know he was the best, but nine of the twelve kickers were taken in the last two rounds. No kicker should ever be taken before the 10th round (and I’m being nice). Great players taken after this pick and before Don’s 10th round pick: Chris Johnson, Giants D, DeSean Jackson, Cutler, Royal, Aaron Rogers & Steve Slaton. *ROUND EIGHT Best: Jay Cutler (Molly)*: A lot of bad quarterbacks went many round earlier than this guy. *Worst: Brett Favre (Rob M):* No, he wasn’t the worst pick ever, but if you trade him before the draft is over because you can’t afford him, then it’s the worst pick in the round. *ROUND NINE Best: Greg Jennings (Don):* I know I said I don’t like to put keepers, but I don’t have a choice. There are no good picks in this round, so it comes down to two keepers; Barber and Jennings. One led his team to six wins and no playoffs, the other led his team to the title. *Worst: Javon Walker (Matt):* The picks in this round weren’t awful, it’s just full of mid-level players who made no impact on fantasy football. Matt really needed a sleeper here and he didn’t get it. *ROUND TEN Best: Steve Slaton (Rich C):* This really could be a tie between Slaton and Rogers. Both filled a hole on their respected teams, both had solid top-five-type seasons, both will be excellent keepers for the next two years, but only one led his team to the post-season. *Worst: John Kita (Molly):* Plenty of forgettable picks here, but Kita was a solid QB last year. What’s happened? God happened. *ROUND ELEVEN Best: Buccaneers DST (Eric):* Sure they completely collapsed down the stretch, but they were top-five all season long. *Worst: Nick Folk (Griff):* If you’re going to take a kicker this high, it better pan out. *ROUND TWELVE Best: Jake Delhomme (Rob M):* He actually started a handful of games for Rob and out-performed Big Ben. *Worst: Ben Watson (Rich B):* Three years in a row and counting, Rich has drafted Ben. *ROUND THIRTEEN Best: Issac Bruce (Don):* A big reason Don was able to make it to the playoffs and win the title. He was a solid third-receiver. *Worst: Reggie Brown (Colby):* This round had an amazing five keepers, so not a lot to choose from, but one day this league will learn top stop taking Reggie Brown. *ROUND FOURTEEN Best: Matt Ryan (Robio):* He was a practice player, so I get him three more years. *Worst: Matt Leinart (Bob):* He played last week for the first time and proceeded to fumble and throw an interception. *ROUND FIFTEEN Best: Cardinals Defense (Rich C):* They were actually starter-worthy for a few games. *Worst: Laurence Tynes (Robio): *He never actually started for the G-Men.
