The season is over and it’s time to see who ended the season with the best and worst keepers.
1. Matt – Randy Moss, 1st Round He had the best fantasy season by a receiver in the history of Robioland football. I think that’s grounds for a #1 ranking.
2. Rob M – Braylon Edwards, 9th Round He finished third among receivers, becoming the only real third-year receiver breakout. Not bad considering he never got any playing time in ’06.
3. Rich B – Marion Barber, 9th Round You can’t be too unhappy landing a top-ten back in the ninth round. Although Addai had a better year, Barber goes one spot higher because Rich got him four rounds later
4. Rob M – Joseph Addai, 5th Round Again patience paid off as Rob landed the 4th best back in the league in the fifth round. How did Rob not make the playoffs again?
5. Rich B – L. Tomlinson, 1st Round Yep, I dropped him this far, even though he finished #1 among running backs again. Why you ask. Rich traded him, so when he did get hot, it was for another team.
6. Eric – Kellen Winslow, 13th Round With so many health issues, we all almost forgot how good he was suppose to be. At least Eric remembered…thirteen rounds later.
7. Molly – Frank Gore, 5th Round Thinking back to the season, I could have sworn Gore had a rough year and if you compare his ’06 numbers to ’07, they’re way down, but so is the RB position. He finished 8th among all backs.
8. Don – Willie McGahee, 5th Round In his final year as a keeper for Don, Willis did what Willis always did…just good enough. He finished 10th among backs, never really dominating.
9. Griff – Chargers DST, 6th Round Did you know the Chargers defense finished first among D’s? Yeah, I didn’t know either. You knew? Good for you.
10. Molly – M. Colston, 7th Round For the second year in a row, Molly had a #1 receiver in the 7th round. Despite a slow start, Colston did not suffer through a sophomore slump.
11. Matt – Maurice Jones-Drew, 5th Round He didn’t finish in the top ten and he never really played for Matt, but he still finished 13th among backs, despite splitting time.
12. Jeff/Colby – Donovan McNabb, 5th Round Not a great year, although he did avoid the big injury. He finished 12th, justifying a starting spot, but that’s about it.
13. Bob – Brandon Jacobs, 10th Round Here goes the run of injured running backs who should have had good years. Jacobs gets the top nod, not because he was the best (21st), but rather, he finished the season.
14. Robio – Willie Parker, 2nd Round He lead the league in rushing when he went out, but failed to ever score. Not too godd for a guy who was suppose to be a top-five back.
15. Eric – Ronnie Brown, 2nd Round He was on pace to have a record breaking fantasy season and is a big reason why Eric was 6-1 when he went down. It also may explain why Eric went 2-5 the rest of the way.
16. Bob – Reggie Bush, 1st Round All the marbles fell his way. Deuce went down early and the backfield belong to Bush. He faltered though, eventually ending his season early too.
17. David – L. Maroney, 7th Round I can sum up his season pretty quickly…he got hurt, he split time, the Patriots passed the ball too much. He never really contributed to Dave’s season.
18. Griff – Larry Johnson, 5th Round He was suppose to be the greatest keeper of all time (not named Tomlinson), but he sputtered out of the gate, breaking down halfway through a tough season.
19. Don – Michael Turner, 6th Round Can’t judge this pick at all, since Turner sniffed Don’s starting lineup. He can only be judged after this season now that he’s the starter in Atlanta.
20. Jeff/Colby – Jaguars DST, 12th Round They fell to 13th among defenses, they were traded to Burrier, sitting on his bench for the remainder of the season.
21. Rich C – Philip Rivers, 15th Round A tough season, with luckily for Calderon, didn’t really effect him too much early. However, the one positive was the trade for Brees, who played great in the 2nd half.
22. Griff – Matt Schaub, 15th Round It looked like this would be another solid Griff sleeper pick, but Schaub could never get healthy.
23. Rob M – Ravens DST, 12th Round Oh man, talk about a collpase. They went from #1 in 2006, to 16th in 2007. What made it worse was the simple fact that Rob kept on starting them.
24. Rich C – Deuce McAllister, 6th Round He was the first major ACL injury of the year and he did nothing for Rich, except steal a 6th round pick from him.
25. Robio – Vince Young, 13th Round He was suppose to be Michael Vick with an arm (and without dog fighting), yet somewhere along the line he forget how to run. He finished the season on Matt’s bench.
26. Rich B – Matt Leinart, 13th Round You know it’s bad, when the coach thinks it’s better for the team if you split time at QB with Kurt Warner. He saved himself by going on IR for the remainder of the year.
27. Eric – Ahman Green, 7th Round He finished 64th among backs, the worst of all the keepers. However, I put him above Henry because at least Green never started for Eric, thus he didn’t ruin his season.
28. Robio – Travis Henry, 6th Round Hey kids, you want to know how to have your worst season ever? Try keeping Henry in the 6th round, handing him your starting RB spot.
